AERO South Africa will open its doors at Wonderboom National Airport in Pretoria for the first-time later this week. This FREE-to-attend exhibition will feature workshops by over 10 industry experts, demo flights from major local and international manufacturers and suppliers to the industry, as well as a first of its kind Park & Sell area sponsored by AutoTrader.



Set to be Africa's largest general aviation trade show, AERO South Africa will take place from 4-6 July 2019 and will expose visitors to leading industry experts, aviation companies, flight training schools, pilots, business jet owners and private aircraft owners over 3 days of excitement, demonstrations and face-to-face business meetings.



The workshops will provide an overview of the direction of the general aviation industry, highlighting topics such as Flight Planning, Electrifying Aviation, the Safety-First Campaign that was initiated in 2013 as well as highlight fundamental issues that can arise in composite manufacturing.



"It is important to understand the challenges and opportunities facing the global general aviation industry, therefore this event is set to be the three most valuable days of the aviation industry in South Africa," says Shaun Swart, Head of New Business Development at Messe Frankfurt South Africa.



Visitors can expect to gain knowledge from industry experts such as Pilot Aviation Specialist, Willi Tacke who will be discussing the status of E-aviation on a global level. Rob Jonkers, Vice Chairman at The Aero Club of South Africa will help visitors to understand the role of The Aero Club of South Africa and supporting recreational Aviation.



Garmir da Costa, Sales manager of Bose in India will be discussing comfort, noise reduction, clear communication and why this is crucial for safe flight operations. Economist Dr Roelof Botha will be presenting the results of the last quarter's CAASA Aviation Activity Index (CAAI). This index is based on 25 different indicators and provides a balanced gauge of economic activity in the commercial aviation industry.



Various manufacturers exhibiting at AERO South Africa will offer the opportunity of demo flights to visitors in the market to purchase a new aircraft. Visitors will be able to view and purchase second-hand aircraft in the dedicated "Park and Sell" area sponsored by AutoTrader


On Thursday, 4 July, Airlink, City of Tshwane, Tshwane Economic Development Agency and AERO South Africa will host "The Link" STEM Innovation Challenge Day. This is an exciting programme for Tenth Grade Scholars from schools within a 30km radius from Airlink destinations, who excel in pure mathematics & physical science.




Saturday, 6 July, AERO south Africa will host a fly-in that is set to be the biggest fly-in Wonderboom has ever seen.
