Taiwanese exhibitor turnout still No. 1 at CeBIT 2007

In continuation of a decades-old tradition, Taiwan as Asia's undisputed No. 1 hardware manufacturer is sending more exhibitors to CeBIT 2007 than any other single nation, thus underscoring the Taiwan ICT industry's commitment to CeBIT as the country's most promising window to export business.
Export statistics recently published by Taiwan's Ministry of Economics also serve to highlight this trend: Taiwanese exports of ICT products amounted to a huge USD 61.73 billion of the country's total export volume of USD 299.31 billion a full 20.3 percent increase over 2005. Another noteworthy development is the ongoing upsurge in demand for flat panel products from Taiwan.
The apparent decline in the number of Taiwanese exhibitors registering for CeBIT over the course of the past several years (now at 573) is primarily due to a triple-digit number of Taiwanese firms having either moved their factories to mainland China or registered for the show via European representatives.
As prescribed by the German Society for the Voluntary Control of Trade Fair and Exhibition Statistics (FKM), such exhibitors are counted as exhibitors from the respective countries, so they are not listed as 'Taiwanese' despite being companies from Taiwan.
Taiwan's presence at CeBIT is not only restricted to individual firms: A Taiwanese Pavilion is also being organized by the country's official foreign trade organization TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council). In addition to this, 11 themed Taiwan Pavilions will be staged in as many halls by Deutsche Messe's Taipei representatives:
