They attempted to make it into a night race in 2009, but they had issues with the lighting and it also rained. Sepang is 5.543 km (3.445 miles) long and begins with back-to-back hairpins at Turns 1 and 2, followed by a sweeping right at Turn 3.

There is a left-hand turn at Turn 12, a right at Turn 13 and another at Turn 14 into a long straightaway, down into a hairpin at Turn 15. Another straightaway takes the drivers to the start/finish line.

Malaysian Grand Prix 2015 review

The Malaysian Grand Prix was the second race of the 2015 season, and Lewis Hamilton won his second pole of the season.

Teammate Nico Rosberg ran the fastest lap of the race, but Sebastian Vettel won his first race by finishing ahead of Hamilton and Rosberg.

Kimi Raikkonen and Valtteri Bottas rounded out te top five as only seven cars finished on the lead lap.

It was Vettel's fourth win in Malaysia, which ties him with John MacDonald for the most wins here. Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso are equal with two wins in this race.

2016 Prediction

According to 888sport.com the biggest chance to win the  Malaysian Grand-Prix 2016 is still with Mercedes, LewisHamilton on top followed by Nico Rosberg,  Red Bull with Dani Ricciardo and Max Verstappen followed by Ferrari with Vettel and  Raikkonen.

Not to forget the both Force India drivers Nico Hülkenberg followed by Sergio Perez.

Seven of the last 12 winners of the Malaysian Grand Prix has come from the pole, and three more from the second spot.

That means you’ll want to keep a close eye on how the qualifying goes over the weekend leading up to the race.

Go with Hamilton to pick up the win in Malaysia, which is much later in the year than it was in 2015 - but Rosberg getting stronger and stronger in the last three races - not to forget the both Red Bull drivers, Ricciardo taking podium in last race and Max Verstappen, the young new "hero" in F1 circus.

As you can see, Sebastian Vettel is also someone you’ll want to keep an eye on as he has a very strong track history here.

Keep an eye on the weather as it could have some effect on how the cars line up in qualifying.
