Satisfied with the 2007 season !

The Spa-Francorchamps based Mühlner Motorsport Team can look back on a particularly successful 2007 race season. Having entered four 24hr races in the Middle East, Far East and Europe, two 6hr races at the Nürburgring and Vallelunga and a further nine 4hr races in the German Endurance Championship it was a very broad spectrum of races.

From the 15 races entered, the Mühlner Porsche 911 GT3s scored four wins, six second places and a third. The absolute highlight of the season was winning the FIA GT3 category of the team’s home race, the 24hrs at Spa-Francorchamps at the end of July.

Paul van Splunteren (NL), Ian Khan (MC), Simon Fredericks (NL) and Gosse Stielstra (NL) drove a mistake-free race. That, together with a superbly prepared car and top race strategy brought the team their sixth win in the Ardennes marathon.

With consistency of performance (not a single retirement through mechanical problems and only one finish not on the podium) Jochen Krumbach (Eschweiler) was able to top the points standings for Porsche Cup cars in the German Endurance Championship with 66.68 pts, ahead of his team colleague Heinz-Josef Bermes (Willich) with 62.68 pts. The third place driver with 57.49 pts came from another team.

"Juppy had to miss the first race and Jochen got points for driving the other car in the ninth race, when he drove both our cars, which is why although they are team colleagues they have different points and are placed first and second.

Each of them has two wins – Jochen at the first and second race, Juppy at the second and ninth race. We’re very proud of our one-two in the points for the Porsche Cup class, particularly as it was in the face of stiff competition from professional and works drivers" explained Renate-Carola Mühlner

In addition to the successes of their own team, Mühlner Motorsport can also take pleasure from the many successes achieved by their customer teams. The M-Service division expanded in 2007 and in addition to countless engine and gearbox rebuilds also ran customers either just from the workshop or with on-track support as well.

Through word of mouth from satisfied customers, always the best form of recommendation, the team gained many new customers in the Porsche Clubsport scene. Furthermore, M-Service established itself as a partner to the automotive supply industry, taking on test and development programmes across Europe, from Finland to Spain.

"All in all, a very good year for us. Alongside the sporting successes, which are always our primary focus, our brought spectrum of car servicing and service provider to our customers has proved itself.

This broad spectrum gives us security for the future and helps make us an ‘all round competence’ partner. Interesting projects for 2008 and numerous enquiries confirm the direction we have taken and provide good long term prospects" summarised Bernhard Mühlner
