The first day of Shiraz 6 stages- k.m 342.2 length rally has witnessed dramatic weather changes and heavy rains that affected the plans and strategies of all the participants, the Qatari champion Abdulaziz Al Kawari was preceeding in most of the stages- 18 seconds difference in front of the the Qatari champion Nasser Al Attiyah who managed to reduce the difference, Khalid Al Qassmi UAE came in the third position, 1 minute, 3 seconds ,3/10 between the 1st


 Khalid Al swaidi-Qatar came in the fourth posotion, and the Qatari Khalifa Al Attiyah came in the fifth position due to the technial failure he has encountered today.


The Kuwaiti Salah Bin Eidan came in the top of group N for the 6 stages without any competion especially after the withdrawl of tbe the Qatari Rashid Al Nuaimi. In return , the Kuwaiti Mishari Al zufairi has left the race permanently after the third round due to a mechanical failure.


Regarding the Omani participation which is considered the first of its kind in this season The Champion Khalid Somar and his co-driver Taha Al Zadjali , they completed the first three rounds, then left the race due some technical failure, the same thing also happened with Omani rider Khalid Mungi who left the race early before the rallt starts due to technical failure.




The 8 stages rally k.m 325.7 length second and last day had also some dramatic events, as 3 stages have been cancelled to be only 5 stages, due to the weather dramatic changes , in order the sustain the safety of the riders.


The Qatari Abdulaziz Al Kawari was in the top before the the evengs of the 9th round start, to be at the end for Thr Qatari Nasser Al Attiyah with 3.9 seconds difference, however the difference increased in the 10 th round to be 9.9 seconds up to 27 seconds at the end of the 13 round between the second The Qatari Abdulaziz Al Kawari, Shk. Khalid Al Qassimi came in the position 27.7 seconds, while the fourth and fifth positions were similar to the results of the first day, where the Qatari Khalid Al Swaidi came in the fourth position then Khalifa Al Attiyah in the fifth, The Kuwaiti Salah Bin Eidan remained the sixth at Shiraz rally general ranking, and at the top of group N, finally the Qatari Rashid Al Nuaimi came in the seventh position.





Ziad Jamous: Shiraz rally is administratively successful

I can confirm that Shiraz rally is administratively successful, I have touched this personally as the chairman of the course Shiraz rally 2015, by the way I was an international obsevor last year when it was trial, there were many notes, and they were taken into consideration in this rally.


It is cinsidered new rally, we all have to cooperate together to develop it administratively and technically. He also stated that FIA was keen on applying the safety rules, as it is important point that can not be ignored by FIA officials, I would like to confirm that all safety procedure are applied strictly, and the riders are cooperative in applying them.


Jamous stated that Shiraz rally this year is a little bit different rather than the other middle east rounds in respect of climate of the hosting country and the great masses of fans and auduiece attending the event, and the prepared service area , all these points are considered a positive indicator for the success of the rally, moreover the presence of the financial and spiritual support is a must either for the organizor country- Iran motor sport club or the the Iranian riders.



Anwar Zadjali: Shiraz rally has witnessed different competitive autmosphers



The head of Omani team and the member of the arbitration committee at Shiraz rally 2015 expressed his maximum pleasure for the results acheived by the rally such as the good organization , the high level competitive standards and the cooperation between all parts.


About the nature of the Omani participation in this rally, he stated that regardless of the results, I am happy with the acheivement of our target in this participation, which is considered the first of its kind in this season, hoping to have more participations in future in order to add more acheivements to be recorded in the name of the Omani sport in general and motor sport in particular.


Zadjali added that we are participating today with the Omani champion Khaled Somar who is well known in this sport, we hope that the Omani participation would acheive the target, as Oman motor sport has a good history between the pioneers countries, by the way O would like to thank the officials of Omani ministry of youth and the board members of motor sport for this special chance , through which we will draw a new road map under the title of a new Omani acheivement in the middle east chamionship for rallies.
