With its world premieres at this year's IAA Frankfurt International Motor Show (press days: September 10-11; public days: September 12-22) Opel demonstrates that the automotive future is rich in variety.



The IAA is where the new Opel Corsa, the Grandland X Hybrid and the new Opel Astra will make their debut – perfectly tailored to customer needs. The new Opel Corsa is not only available as an efficient, classic combustion-engine version, but for the first time also as a battery-electric Corsa-e – with a purely electric range of up to 330 kilometres according to WLTP1.



The second world premiere at the Opel stand D31 in Hall 11.0 is the new Grandland X Hybrid4 with all-wheel drive. The plug-in hybrid combines the power of a 1.6 turbocharged petrol engine and two electric motors for a system output of up to 300hp. Preliminary WLTP2 fuel consumption (weighted, combined) is 1.6 l/100 km with 37 g/km CO2 (NEDC3: 1.6 l/100 km, 36 g/km CO2).



The third newcomer in the group is the new Opel Astra. With its outstanding aerodynamics, a completely new generation of engines and newly developed transmissions, the Opel Astra sets standards in terms of efficiency and low emissions.




Compared to its predecessor, CO2 emissions are reduced by up to 21 per cent (Astra five-door 1.2 Direct Injection Turbo, 96 kW/130 hp, NEDC4 fuel consumption: urban 5.3-5.2 l/100 km, extra-urban 3.9-3.8 l/100 km, combined 4.4-4.3 l/100 km, 101-99 g/km CO2). This puts the new Astra at the top of the compact class – and makes it the most efficient Astra of all time.



Last but not least, the new Opel Zafira Life makes its first appearance in front of a German trade fair audience in Frankfurt. Twenty years after the success began with the first generation in 1999, the story is now continuing with a newly developed fourth-generation model: the Zafira Life comes in a new dimension – in three vehicle lengths, highly versatile with space for up to nine people and with top comfort and assistance systems.

Instead of prescribing the way forward, we offer the entire drive portfolio – from ground-breaking electric and hybrid drive to efficient combustion engines. All new models are equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and already available to order.”
