As the long-standing official partner of the French Open tennis tournament for the 38th consecutive year, PEUGEOT will be providing transportation for the players, VIPs and officials with a fleet of 100% electric vehicles for the first time in 2021.

PEUGEOT is making the French Open the first sporting event of its kind in the world to be associated with completely electrified mobility.

Two-thirds of the fleet of 162 PEUGEOT vehicles at Roland-Garros is made up of rechargeable hybrid models, and one-third of purely electric models, and has an exceptionally low carbon footprint: the average CO2 emissions per vehicle, at only 22.7g per kilometre, are 7.5 times lower than in 2019.

This substantial reduction in emissions demonstrates PEUGEOT's desire to make a significant contribution to protecting the air quality of the Porte d'Auteuil area. It also demonstrates the wealth of the PEUGEOT range in terms of eco-responsible vehicles with low CO2 emissions.

The Paris Grand Slam tournament will also be an opportunity for PEUGEOT to showcase, in front of the cameras and a worldwide audience, its new brand identity which is characterised by a redesigned logo, as well as its new technological showcase, the 508 PEUGEOT SPORT ENGINEERED.

As for Novak Djokovic, the world's No. 1 ATP player and PEUGEOT ambassador, he will wear the brand's name on his polo shirt throughout his matches on the clay court at Roland-Garros.

For the first time, PEUGEOT is deploying a 100% eco-responsible fleet at Roland-Garros

This 100% electrified fleet is perfectly in line with the energy transition of the Brand, which is proud to be the partner of the eco-responsible mobility of the Roland-Garros tournament.

"The line-up of the 100% electric fleet that we are making available to the Roland-Garros tournament organisation demonstrates our shared interest in firmly investing in the energy transition", says Linda Jackson, Managing Director of the PEUGEOT Brand.

“In two years, PEUGEOT has dramatically accelerated the introduction of low and zero emission vehicles. By the end of this year, 70% of the vehicles in our range will be electrified. And by 2025, the entire PEUGEOT vehicle range will be electrified.”

"The French Tennis Federation has placed sustainable development at the heart of its strategy, and the Roland Garros tournament is its most prestigious showcase. It is important for us to make our approach visible. The fleet of 162 electric vehicles that PEUGEOT is making available to the tournament is a remarkable and pleasing contribution to our efforts in terms of eco-responsibility", says Gilles Moretton, President of the French Tennis Federation.

The fleet of 162 vehicles being made available to transport the players, VIPs and officials is made up of 6 electrified models from the PEUGEOT range:

The new 508 PEUGEOT SPORT ENGINEERED is the perfect example of the PEUGEOT SPORT engineers’ expertise. With its electrified all-wheel drive system and rechargeable petrol/hybrid powertrain with a combined power output of 360 hp, it is the most powerful production car ever built by PEUGEOT. It sets the standard for a new virtuous and responsible performance: Neo-Performance. The 508 PEUGEOT SPORT ENGINEERED boasts extremely low emission levels, as it is certified according to the WLTP protocol at 46 g CO2/km, the equivalent of 2.03 litres of fuel per 100 km.

The PEUGEOT 508 HYBRID offers a PLUG-IN HYBRID powertrain with a combined power of 225hp/165kW, and C0₂ emissions at the highest level: the PEUGEOT 508 HYBRID is approved at 29g of C0₂/km (1.3L/100km) and offers a range of 54km in 100% electric mode (WLTP protocol).

The PEUGEOT 3008 GT HYbrid 225 e-EAT8 combines a 180hp (or 132kW) PureTech engine with a 110hp (or 80kW) electric engine adjoined to the eight-speed e-EAT8 automatic gearbox. It is certified at 30g of CO2/km, and offers up to 56 km of 100% electric range (WLTP).

The PEUGEOT e-2008 is the first 100% electric SUV produced by PEUGEOT. It offers access to a new world of emotions. High-level panache is combined with total silence and a complete absence of vibrations, without any CO2 emissions.
The PEUGEOT e-TRAVELLER, with its 100% electric engine, is the mobility partner for professional and personal travel.

Its engine delivers a maximum power of 136hp/100kW, and a maximum torque of 260 Nm, available from the moment it is started for immediate responsiveness, with no vibration, no noise, no gear shifting, no smell, and of course, no CO2 emissions.

The PEUGEOT e-TRAVELLER comes in 2 different finish levels, offering up to 330 km in the WLTP homologation cycle. Available in a variety of configurations adapted to passenger transport, with elegant styling, without compromising on performance and providing access to the heart of the most restrictive city centres in terms of emissions, the PEUGEOT e-Traveller offers a refined interior setting.

The PEUGEOT e-EXPERT, voted 2021 INTERNATIONAL VAN OF THE YEAR, is a 100% electric compact van. It can therefore access the most protected city centres without restriction. Two levels of autonomy are offered, thanks to 50 kWh or 75 kWh lithium-ion batteries.

All the vehicles in the fleet are marked with the Roland-Garros logo, the new PEUGEOT logo - the coat of arms representing a lion's head on a black background - and carry the words 'Official Partner'. The sticker on their rear window is also an invitation to participate in the energy transition, as it reads 'Move to electric'.

PEUGEOT's new identity at the heart of the plan

On 25 February 2021, PEUGEOT unveiled its new brand identity, characterised by a lion's head crest on a black background. The Roland Garros tournament will be the first global event where the Brand will present its new logo to the widest possible audience, on the court sign panels.

"The PEUGEOT brand has been marrying its own values - Exigence, Allure and Emotion - with the world of tennis for almost four decades. We are particularly proud and happy to introduce our new PEUGEOT logo to hundreds of millions of television viewers spanning all continents during the Roland Garros tournament" - Linda Jackson, Managing Director of the PEUGEOT Brand.

The Brand's international ambassador, the world's No. 1 ATP player Novak Djokovic, will also wear the PEUGEOT coat of arms on the Roland Garros courts. He will also be the main feature of an advertising campaign dedicated to the 508 PEUGEOT SPORT ENGINEERED, which will begin airing at the start of the tournament.

Responsible performance on the podium with the new 508 PEUGEOT SPORT ENGINEERED

As part of its partnership with Roland-Garros, PEUGEOT will display the new 508 PEUGEOT SPORT ENGINEERED in its SW (Station Wagon) version on a dedicated podium for the public throughout the tournament.
