Three more times full-speed for the ADAC PROCAR drivers. The trilogy of events that will conclude the season 2012 is commencing on the upcoming weekend in the Lausitz. Around 4.500 - not so easy - metres are waiting at the Lausitzring for the touring cars to conquer and tame them.


For many of the drivers it is not their first event at the Eurospeedway but still it is considered a challenge that has to be coped with especially since there are sixty more points to be allocated and several drivers at the same time who want to improve their position in the championship.


Six more races to go until the final decision in the ADAC PROCAR championship 2012 will be taken. The final straight's opening will be taking place on the upcoming weekend in Klettwitz. Along with the ADAC Masters Weekend the two races of the popular touring car series, separated by a repairing break of 15 minutes, will be held as usual on Sunday afternoon.


The spectators may look forward to a new driver in Division 1. Markus Huggler is making his debut this season in a BMW 320 si E46. But the Swiss is no stranger in racing sports. Already in the previous year he got a taste of the ADAC PROCAR with a guest start and may now complete the starter field until the end of this season. Jens Weimann will be the target of his and the other drivers’ chase.


The driver of Thate Motorsport and his BMW 320 si E90, which is by now commonly known under its nick name “Ella”, are looking back on an incredible series of victories this year. On the whole ten times the Preetz citizen was crowned as the best driver – no PROCAR driver has won this many races in a row.


Engstler driver Paul Green tried persistently to catch up with Weimann in an equivalent car but until no he constantly had a really rough time doing so. Still Green seems to be motivated by the diminishing gap between him and Weimann. “I am working on getting faster. Of course, I may not rely on a long-term experience like Jens and I have a note that it is exactly the experience that makes him so fast”, Green states.


Milenko Vukovic, another BMW driver of Division 1 may look back on many years of touring sports but he acquired his “working tool” only at the beginning of the season and is still adjusting to the rear-wheel driven bolide. “I had to take a break at the Red Bull Ring but I am ready to attack again and gain some more points in the remaining races”, the Swiss explains.


Michael Meyer is expecting additional local support. The BMW driver from Saxony is absolving practically a home event at the Eurospeedway. After the races at the Sachsenring and the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, the 32-year-old is starting for the third time in the ADAC PROCAR to compete with other drivers in equal vehicles.



Division 2

Guido Thierfelder, Nils Mierschke and Ralf Glatzel are three drivers that seem to have booked a podium guarantee for this season. Thierfelder is leading the trio in the championship and keeps his distance to last year’s winner Mierschke.


“Achieving so many victories is surprising for me but I am also very happy about it. Of course I will do everything possible to get the championship back to Troisdorf”, Thierfelder reports, who had to bow only once to Lennart Marioneck when he did not win.


So far, Nils Mierschke has not found his way to seriously put Thierfelder under pressure: “He has just had a really good season”, so the rookie explains. “But this season is not over yet. It’s gonna be tough to catch up but I will not give in until the last race will be absolved!”


Ralf Glatzel should be endlessly motivated as well. The newly engaged driver is travelling to the Lausitzring together with his young team mate David Griessner who is having another guest start in the ADAC PROCAR.




If it were up to Lennart Marioneck, a weekend without problems and top times would be on the agenda. The student is waiting for his chance to attack the three drivers ahead of him. A gap of only 8 points is separating Ralf Glatzel and Lennart Marioneck, currently ranging fourth, followed by Belorussian Yury Krauchuk who is for sure looking for a settlement of damages after a less successful weekend at the Red Bull Ring to now secure his position in the championship.


Julia Trampert was able to work forward to position 6 and is ranging at the moment right behind Krauchuk. The young woman from Saarland constantly scored throughout the last races and is aiming at continuing this series at the Lausitzring.


Wilson Borgnino would give everything for a new series and this time hopefully a successful one. The Argentinean has had a rather hard time as his Chevrolet Aveo caused several problems. Even after an engine damage at the Red Bull Ring no stone has been left unturned thus enabling Borgnino to start again in the Lausitz to prove his talent.
