JORDAN RALLY – DAY 2 (SATURDAY)
• Hans Weijs jr.: electrical problems caused dropping to 11th place….
• Kevin Abbring: almost trouble free day moved him to 6th place….
The second day of the Jordan Rally was one with hopes and some disappointment for the KNAF Talent First Team Holland. Hans Weijs jr. dropped 5 places down the leader board because of some electrical problems, while Kevin Abbring moved up a place after an almost trouble free day.

Already on the second stage of the day Hans Weijs jr. lost considerable time when his Citroën C2 R2 Max stalled after the water splash. And later during the day electrical and fuel pressure problems caused even more work for the young driver and his mechanics.
"However, it was a day that sometimes happens, but I’m still learning a lot," said Weijs. "Hopefully we can have a better day tomorrow and move up again some places. However, the longest stage of the rally (41 kms) will be going to be tough, especially for the tires."
Kevin Abbring
For Kevin Abbring the day went much better, although also Abbring’s Renault Clio engine stalled after one of the water splashes (SS12), which costed him about 40 seconds.
"But that was about it," was Kevin’s comment when he returned in the Dead Sea Service Park tonight. "I also felt much better than yesterday, although I’m still not in a very good shape. But with the help of some energy drinks I can manage." With some quick times (e.g. 6th on SS16) he moved up to 6th overall.
Jordan Rally
The main story of the second day of the Jordan Rally was the head-on collision of the two Citroëns of rally leader Sebastien Loeb and Conrad Rautenbach on one of the liaison routes.
Dani Sordo regained the lead after Ford-drivers Latvala (2nd) and Hirvonen (3rd) slowed down on the last stage of the day to avoid running first on Sunday’s stages. In the J-WRC classification Patrik Sandell (Renault Clio) is still leading, now followed by Sebastien Ogier (Citroën) – who moved up from 8th to 2nd place and Jaan Molder (Suzuki), who is now in 3rd position.
Today the Jordan Rally counted 4 special stages, which were each driven twice, totaling 109 competitive kilometers. Sunday two legs of 3 stages (one of them being the spectacular and super long ‘Jordan River’ stage) are being programmed, totaling 134 kilometers.
