Everything is ready in Tuuri to host the 2013 FIM Snowcross World Championship. The Finnish location has already hosted the event three times, but every year they design a completely different and demanding track to guarantee good racing and great show for the spectators.
The track is located in a shopping village called Veljekset Keskinen and it is the second best shopping centre in Finland, as well as one of the best well-known tourist attractions in the country.
Runner up of the 2012 FIM Snowcross World Championship Petter Narsa is the clear favourite to claim the 2013 FIM Snowcross World Championship Title, but home rider Aki Pihlaja will count with the publics’ support to improve his last year’s fifth position.
Another Finnish rider Viktor Herten is undergoing one of his best moments of his professional career after claiming the Finnish Championship Pro Stock and Pro Open in 2012. Last year, Herten finished seventh in the FIM Snowcross World Championship so his goal this year is to finish on the podium in front of his home crowd.
Other candidates who will be fighting for the top three positions are Swedish riders Adam Rehear and Johan Eriksson, who finished third and fourth respectively last year in Semigorje, Russia. However, American Garth Kaufman, who was fourth in the 2011 FIM Snowcross World Championship which took also place in Tuuri, will do his best to take the 2013 FIM Snowcross World Title back to the USA after his cousin Tucker Hibbert won it last year.
The three times World Champion Peter Eriksson, who finished eighth last year in the FIM Snowcross World Championship and second in the Swedish Championship, will also enter the 2013 FIM Snowcross World Championship and he will be fully focused to be back racing to finish on the rostrum.
The action will start already tomorrow with the free practices and on Saturday there will take place the three main races that will decide who the 2013 FIM Snowcross World Championship will be. All the Sunday action will be broadcast LIVE in HD for the first time in the event’s history.
MTV3 MAX will broadcast the event LIVE in Finland, but the event will also be broadcast LIVE in Asia on FOX Sports ASIA, in Slovenia on Sport TV, in France on Motors TV France, in the UK on Motors TV UK and in the rest of Europe on Motors TV Europe.
The 2013 FIM Snowcross World Championship will also be broadcast LIVE on mx-life.tv and with the Live+ Mobile Application http://bit.ly/yi9nsJ the event will also be available on IPAD.
A 26 minutes magazine including the best moments of the 2013 FIM Snowcross World Championship will be distributed from the 20th February through MTV3 MAX in Finland, EUROSPORT in France, UK, Europe and Asia, FOX Sports ASIA in Asia, FOX Australia and worldwide on mx-life.tv. In addition, the news of the event will be available on Saturday night on mx-life.tv and on the mx-life.tv YouTube Channel.
