BLANCPAIN ENDURANCE SERIES – PAUL RICARD 2013




The Porsche 911 GT3-R’s #75 performance, best representative of the brand, during the last round of the Blancpain Endurance Series did not fully fulfil ProSpeed Competition’s ambitions.


A spirit that the team members share with the drivers of the car boasting the Alcra Flash- MoWeKo-CMF colours, comprised out of the German Marc Hennerici, the Dutchman Xavier Maassen and the young Belgian Maxime Soulet. Together these drivers will once again be going head-to-head with sixty one other Grand Touring cars, all meeting the “GT3” technical regulations.


 The team’s work, the drivers’ skills and the German GT’s qualities will be put to the test, on the ‘high performance’ Paul Ricard circuit, during another sprint … lasting three hours.


The third meeting of the Blancpain Endurance Series, held in France, on 29th and 30th June, will be the final dress rehearsal before the competition’s highlight, namely the 24 Hours of Spa.


Some three weeks previously we ended the British weekend stating that the “Paul Ricard” meeting… as also the 24 Hours of Spa would soon be upon us. And we were not mistaken!


In the wake of the 24 Hours of Le Mans the ProSpeed Competition team continued its journey through France, heading to the southern part. If one refers to statistics it is soon apparent that the Porsche 911 GT3 has always been able to prove its full qualities on the Paul Ricard circuit, located in the heart of Provence. And will it be the same this year?

“We are working in that direction, but the challenge that awaits us includes two new unknown entities. This season, as required by the regulations, our car will be shod with new tyres. How will they react with regard to the “set-up” of the chassis, with regard to the track’s surface… and last but not least to the climatic conditions?


A further novelty; the organisers have split the endless Mistral straight (1800 m., Ed) into two sections, by adding a chicane. This implies an additional braking zone, in other words an additional overtaking opportunity, but also an aerodynamic balance to be reviewed. Neither our drivers nor our engineers will have time to be bored! The races might well follow on, but the challenges are never alike.”



Maxime Soulet (BEL - Driver – Porsche 911 GT3-R #75)

“We keep on repeating it, but the level of the Blancpain Endurance Series never ceases to increase! Where will it end? Today, a place on the podium is the outcome of a successful qualifying session and an all out attack as from the first meters of the race. It’s pretty testing but exciting.


On top of that we need to take on new challenges. But to face these we have a trump card: a perfect understanding between Marc (Hennerici, Ed) and Xavier (Maassen, Ed), my teammates.”
