Sizzling suspense surrounds the fastest European hill climb racer at 46th Int. ADAC Hill Climb Race in Hilter-Borgloh bevor showdown on 3rd and 4th August.


Almost 180 starter from 11 nations will show outstanding performances at this top-class automotorsport event on the 2,030 km course on „Uphöfener Berg“.


Most stars of the international hill climb scene are going to be there this weekend, aiming for high scores concerning the European Hill Climb  league FIA „Hill Climb Challenge“ and the FIA European Hill Climb Cup, presented by RWE, and on the current course record of 53,024 seconds.


Being the defending champion from 2012 and record holder, who set the all-time best, the reigning Swiss hill champion Marcel Steiner enters the race with the competition-number 1. Meanwhile hard competition has grown from his own team of Ceylin Motorsport. The jung Swiss Joel Volluz as well as Steiner pilots an Osella FA 30 and celebrated a spectacular victory with his 500 PS bolide at the Swiss Championship in La Roche-La-Berra a few weeks ago.


Third man of this successful team is Julien Duccommun (Veyrier/Schweiz), who already worked his way far forward in the running season and who causes quite a stir as a newcomer in the team of Ceylin Motorsport. Urs Müller completes the strong Swiss team with his Osella PA 30 and proves himself “worthy of Formular 1at the Hill Climb Race.


The neighbouring Grand Duchy of Luxemburg  awards one of their championships to the national top-class Hill Climb Championship north to Osnabrück. This little Benelux-country comes with fast pilotes with outstanding bolides.



 One unique and beautiful vehicle will be presented by David Hauser (aged 23) from the Racing Experience Team: the young student was already very successful with his Dallara GP 2 and won several international races. The Luxembourger Team around Guy Demuth (Osella FA 30) and jester Tommy Rollinger (Lola B 02/50 Formel 3000) has been coming to Osnabrück's countryside for several years and won numerous fans.


Guy Demuth gets along with „Uphöfener Berg“ particularly well. Last year he came in second after a tough fight with Marcel Steiner, having the best time on wet course in the 2nd run. Also this year the Luxembourger Champion aims for a place on the podium,  since he succeeded in an outstanding overall victory in 2010 an 2011.


The Swiss Eric Berguerand, placed 4th in 2012, did not only set a positive  emphasis in the Swiss Hill Climb Championchip in the last months, he also brought in grand victories as part of the Austrian Hill Climb Championship with the Lola FA 99 Formel 3000.


The Freiburger Team Zajelsnik  starts with four strong racing cars. Compared to his 6th place of the previous year, the youngest driver of the team, Patrick Zajelsnik, wants to improve with his Norma M 20 F racing car, an 8-cylinder engine with breathtaking sound. His brother, Alexander Zajelsnik, drives a car just as beautiful, powered by a BMW engine.


New in the team is Austrian Karl Philipp Eiermann with an Osella PA 20/S, who participated at „European Hillrace“ in Eschdorf/Luxemburg in May for the first time. With a Formula 3000 (Lola B99/50) Alsatian Antoine Lombardo is the first driver from the French Hill-Climb-scene for many years, who sets about the  „Uphöfener Berg“.


Traditionally connected to the names of the European Hill-Climb-Scene are the drivers coming from the Czech Republic. The reigning European FIA Hill Climb Challenge Champion, Vaclav Janik, presents his wonderful Fomula 3000 Lola B02/50 and has already begun chasing the titledefense for the Czech national team by midseason.


The Hungrian Laszlo Szasz unquestionably belongs to the toneful names of the previous decades of the Eruopean Hill Climb Championships. With his Reynard Zytek he is presently leading the zone championships in the Eastern European countries and already won important races in Croatia and the Balkans.


Also in 2013 the well-liked Budapest starts only once in Germany and this is going to happen at the northernmost event. The Swiss Simon Hugentobler plans his comeback in the Osnabrücker countryside this year and starts with the newly acquired Reynard Cosworth 93 Formel 3000.


At such a density of internatinonal top-pilotes the fastest German Hill Climb driver rather have underdog-chances and concentrate on gaining important points for the German Automobil Hill Climb Championship 2013. After having  a longer break and contemporaneously upgrading the power of his Osella PA20 S racing car, the Schweinfurter ex-world champion Uwe Lang may achieve quite a lot, above all he comes with a recommendation of a 2nd overall position from the challenge in Hoburg/Saar in mid-July.


You also shouldnt forget the South-Bavarian brothers Michael and Peter Behnke with their Osella racing cars; last mentioned comes with a recommendation of an overall victory from the Hill Climb Race in Thüringen 2013 to Osnabrück.


The great density of top-drivers and their fantastic open bolides causes an unbelievable suspense and garantees hill sport on highest level!


Also among the touring cars there is a starter field with an incredible density and the circle of favourites is very large here, too.


The East-Westfale Daniel Schrey will get the „Uphöfener Berg“ to tremble with his 900-PS-powered Dodge Viper; as a fourfold champion of the round track the overall winner of this year’s Eifel race and fivefold winner of the Oldtimer-Grand Prix wants to badger the absolute Hill specialist closer with the touring cars.


Two pilotes dominate the German Hill Climb Championship for touring cars in this season: The Frank Klaus Hoffmann attracks all the attention of the fans with his Ex DTM Opel Astra every start and at the moment it seems as if he could succeed the title defense of his victory from 2012 in this year.


But the Innsbrucker Herbert Stolz will give his all on the still following powertracks in Bavaria, with his almost 800-PS-powered Porsche 935 dp Turbo to turn the tide. Before that he wants to prove in the „Borgloher Schweiz“, that he can keep the entire competition in check.


This year it should finally work with the performance of the Swiss Team around „Raketen Bruno“ Bruno Lanniello and Jürgen Gerspacher with their spectacular Lancia Delta S. A very special car will be presented again by the Czech Dan Michl with the Lotus Evora, with which he wants to defend his title as winner of the European FIA Hillclimb Cups 2012.


For the first time ever at a Hill Climb Race in Central Europe a Norwegian starts with his vehicle. Tom Einaar Aaserud from Langhus (Norwegia) pilotes a Volvo S 40 and wants to get to know the Hill Climb scene in Germany better.


Further favourites among the great touring cars come from the KW Hill Cup Group H, the most popular motorcar sport of Europe. The series offer an unique diversity of brands and represents an EL Dorado for tuning fans. With his BMW Z4 GT3 the motorsport tradesman Henry Walkenhorst gives a one-shot-guest performance at the hill. With the beautiful vehicle the team was valued as best private used BMW at this year's 24h-race at Nürburgring and achieved top-positions at the 24h of Barcelona 2012 and 24h of Dubai 2013.


Manfred Lewe from Recke, with a Seat Leon, ex-vehicle from the touring car championship, comes to the hill for the first time.


All in all it's gonna be a hot touring car race and we can expect exciting position battles.




Furthermore the visitors vividly live to see great historical racing variation, f.e.  the special „British way“ and the group of the NSU Hill Cup, which enjoy a big fan base. Opel Classic presents, with the original ex-Walter Röhrl Ascona 1 and the „Black Widow“ two very special classics from the Rüsselsheimer's car forge.


Both vehicles of great history will be driven by the popular actor and ex-stuntman Norbert Heisterkamp, who is at the fans' disposal for autograph requests, just as the skate icon Titus Dittmann, who brings his green Didge Viper to the start during the framework programm.


A special Euopean premiere is the holding of the 1. E-Mobil-Hill-Cup for the grand price of Stadtwerke Osnabrück. Here we can marvel at the e Wolf ALPHA 1 Radical as an open sports car, one of the fastest sports models, driven by the popular Luxembourger motorsportsman Joe Schmitz.


Also aside of the race track there is a lot to experience for both adults and children. Especially in the interactive RWE adventure world, where our little guests can playfully enjoy current topics arround energy.


On Saturday, 3rd August, the training of all participants in the time of 8:30am until ca 6pm will take place. The race heats will be took out on Sunday, 4th August, between 8:30am and ca 5pm, afterwards presentation ceremony at pre-start.
