Preparations for Qatar International Rally 2015

27.01.2015: QMMF is ready for hosting the opening round of 2015 Middle East Championship

QMMF is ready for hosting the opening round of 2015 Middle East Championship for Rallies – which will be hosted by Qatar for 3 days,  5 – 6 – 7 Feb. 2015. An opening press conference will be held at QMMF headquarter on 5th Feb. 2015 at 2 P.M.


Mr. Nasser Al Attiyah , FIM Deputy President & FIA Vice President and the Head of QMMF stated that the most important thing in this event is that  it is managed and conducted by Arab youth who have a good experience in rallies.


We support them in all fields , technically and administratively and do the necessary media coverage for them , as Middle East and North Africa region – MENA-  will have many international sport events, we will do our best to sustain the Arab presence with the assistance of the foreign experiences  in order to have a successful event.


Al Attiyah added that “I am so happy to see female participants from the Iranian Republic, which would make us optimistic enough that we will have more Arab and foreigner female members at Qatar Rally , we look for to seeing a safe and successful starting round in Qatar”.

 
From his side, Mr. Marwan Musabeh – Clerk of Course - disclosed the details of the rally  in addition to the preparation done, he said that the final touch for this event will be put soon, in order to have an ideal event.


Marwan said that thanks to the instructions of Mr. Nasser Al Attiyah -the Head of QMMF- which have contributed much and in a direct way in fulfilling the task, in addition to the cooperation of the organizers, volunteers and the different concerned parties of the state.


Musabeh stated that today we have enough experience to manage such events and others , everyone can easily touch the volume of development and progress that the sport has been witnessing since the beginning of the seventieth of the last century, we have a large number working teams responsible for the organization process , a good follow up system and Satellites, in addition to the increased number of human teams “Marshals” and monitoring points , and many other changes that have been inserted in Qatar Rally that would increase the accuracy standards in the results.


Musabeh confirmed that the number of participants would reach 17 , they will compete in 13 stages for 540.33 K.M , 262.21 K.M of them for speed race , the show race will start on Thu. At 7 P.M at Doha sea shore for 2.27 K.M until the service area at Qatar Aqua Park, the official start will be on 6 Feb. - Fri. morning at 9 . the participants will compete in Umm Wishah 21.63 K, Al Shabana 19.39 K and Al Kharsaah 25.39 K , the same stage will replayed afternoon.


As for the stages of the third day of Qatar Rally 2015 Sat. 7 Feb., it will start at 8 A.M it will have 3 stages Mekaines 20.65 K, Salwa 15.33 K and QMMF 27.80 K , which is considered the longest in the rally which was modified 60% , after completion of these stages , the participant cars will return to QMMF headquarter at Salwa area in the middle of the Qatari capital – Doha where the prizes giving ceremonies for the first 3 positions , then the final press conference after the completion of the event.
