Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland - Nürburgring.
The fight for second place in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany is heating up: Molitor Racing Systems and Christian Engelhart will fight to keep second place in the championships ranking this coming weekend at Nürburgring.
At the last two races, the team suffered more ups and downs in one weekend than expected: Two damages on Engelhart´s #14-911 meant hard work for the MRS-Crew and with a second DNF no points for the championship. But despite all that, Engelhart remains Runner-up in the standings, with just two points ahead of the Swiss Jeffrey Schmidt.
“With only four races left this season, there is no room for mistakes, whether on my side nor on the team´s side”, says the 28-year-old Engelhart. “There can always be a technical issue that spoils the results, but our car has been very reliable. We have such a strong team right now that I am sure of being very competitive at the Nürburgring.”
The Australian Spike Goddard, who is competing in his first-ever Porsche Carrera Cup season this year, is also Runner-Up in the Rookies Championship. He suffered a string of bad luck at the two races at Oschersleben, but is eager to get important points at Nürburgring.
Elia Erhart had some strong results recently and is really up-beaten to make good races for the Team of Iris Dorr and Karsten Molitor.
“I am extremely happy with our performance as a team, we always delivered when we had to and gave everything”, says Karsten Molitor, Team Principal MRS. “We are currently in fifth place in the team´s ranking with 38 points behind. It would be nice, to secure fourth place in the championship, it is a hard adventure, but not impossible.”
