Christian Lavieille et Jean-Michel Polato ont connu encore une journée noire, avec une crevaison et une fuite du réservoir d'essence, dans une des spéciales les plus dures du rallye… l'exercice n'a pas été facile.


Pour cette 9e étape, en boucle autour de Belen, l'équipage du RENAULT DUSTER #308 terminait 21e et pointaient ce soir 22e au général.

Christian Lavieille - Pilote DUSTER RENAULT #308 :
" Aujourd'hui la spéciale était annoncée comme difficile, mais elle a été un enfer ! Pas simple du tout ! .... Au KM 40, nous avons dû faire un stop en raison d'une crevaison (avant droit) dans les épineux.


 Malheureusement, pendant ce changement de roue, nous nous apercevons d'une fuite d'essence sous le réservoir... 2 KM plus loin ... obligés de placer les plaques pour changer la roue et repartir ... La suite devait se faire avec prudence car nous n'avions plus de roue de secours et une fuite d'essence ...


Le mot d'ordre était donc la sagesse ! Ensuite, petit arrêt au CP1 pour contrôler la fuite et au KM 104 nous sommes même sortis de la voiture pour trouver un passage entre les voitures en panne...


Contents finalement de voir les drapeaux rouges au CP 2, parce que nous n'étions vraiment pas sûrs d'avoir assez d'essence pour aller au KM 280 ... demain rendez-vous avec le sable !"


Jean-Michel Polato - Co pilote DUSTER RENAULT #308 :
" C'était dur, c'est sur ... La navigation était une très grande partie du job d'aujourd'hui... La fuite d'essence et la crevaison n'ont pas facilité les choses mais au final la spéciale était coupée au CP2... Demain est un autre jour..."


Au programme de demain, une spéciale de 278 km, reliant Belen à la Rioja, à travers les dunes de Fiambala. Une endurance extrême ! Cette 10e étape, propose le plus gros kilométrage de dunes, et du hors-piste sur l’essentiel de la distance. Une aubaine pour les spécialistes des sables !"
