Max previews Bahrain's Sakhir International Circuit:


"The track in Bahrain is very interesting. Of course the desert sand can turn into a problem if they have a sand storm, which has happened in the past. It is always cool to travel to new countries. I was able to experience Bahrain a bit during the test and really liked it!"

Distance: 5.412 km
Corners: 9 right, 6 left
Distance to 1st corner: 320m



Max on track:

"With the three long straights and some quite slow corners of course traction and braking are important. Added to that come the high temperatures. Since we race during daytime (hotter) unlike Formula 1, it is even more important to look after the rear tyres."

Max fastest on the final day of FIA Formula 2 testing in Bahrain prior to the race



Maximilian Günther topped the overall timesheets on the final day of pre-season testing for the 2018 FIA Formula 2 Championship. With an impressive 1:42.756s lap in the morning session on the last day, Max ended the last test prior to the season's opening race heading the standings.



 "We got a lot of work done and I am pleased with our progress. Clocking the fastest time in this super competetive field at my entry into F2 is great! The team has done a very good job and I look forward to the season ahead with them", Max said proudly, "I can't wait for the start of the season in Bahrain!"
