The Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 eSports Team is ready to battle on three high-speed circuits selected for the next F1 eSports Series event on the 31st October 2018.
Having completed three races earlier this month, Allert van der Wal, and brothers Salih and Sonuç Saltunç will take on the next three prestigious Formula One race tracks – Circuit Paul Ricard (France), Silverstone Circuit (Great Britain), and Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium) – at the Gfinity Arena in London.
The French Grand Prix will be the stage for Round 4, with its long straights and tricky 90-degree corners. The long run-off areas will be something to watch out for, particularly through the sweeping final section that leads onto the start-finish straight.
Next up will be the British Grand Prix, which was the setting for the Pro Draft earlier this year. It is unique in the sense that it was originally an access road for an old World War 2 airbase. The mix of the twisty Maggots and Becketts section, coupled with the two long straights will challenge the drivers to compromise on their car setup.
Finally, the Belgian Grand Prix takes place on the longest circuit at 7,004 kilometres, featuring 20 corners. With the 100m-elevation change, changeable weather conditions, steep Eau Rouge corner that leads into Raidillon, this race poses the ultimate challenge for any eSports racer to conquer.
With the support of Veloce Esports, the drivers have been training using state-of-the-art gaming rigs and simulators. This enabled them to focus on ultimate lap pace for racing on circuits that suit their driving styles, boosting their confidence levels ahead of the crucial second round in the series.
Salih Saltunç, Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 eSports Team driver:
“I am excited to put things right next week. The technical issues we experienced in Round 1 were a bit frustrating but are now firmly in the past, and we must focus on scoring points in order to start moving forwards in the Championship.”
Sonuç Saltunç, Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 eSports Team driver:
“We have a lot to prove heading into Round 2, and we have put all of our focus on improving by putting in hours of practice to make sure we have the pace to fight for race wins. Our setups feel good, our confidence is high and we are looking forward to making our team and supporters proud.
Allert van der Wal, Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 eSports Team driver:
“We have put in a lot of training to ensure we are well prepared for the high-speed challenges at Paul Ricard, Spa and Silverstone. I am confident that we will be pushing for race wins. This competition is strong, so we will bring our A-Game.”
