Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 eSports Team targets podium finish

15.11.2018: The Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 eSports Team is gearing up to fight for top positions in the Constructors’ Championship at the final round of the F1 eSports series.

The Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 eSports Team is gearing up to fight for top positions in the Constructors’ Championship at the final round of the F1 eSports series.

After the successful points haul at the last event, the team is in a strong position, just one point behind Red Bull Racing Esports, the team that is currently holding third place.

The final round will be driven on the high-speed German Grand Prix race track at Hockenheimring, along with the twisty streets of the Marina Bay Street Circuit in Singapore and the renowned Circuit of the Americas.

Drivers Allert van der Wal, Salih Saltunç and Sonuç Saltunç will be looking to capitalise on the double points which are on offer at the final race, set to take place at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. There, the battles will take place on 50 per cent race distance rather than the usual 25 per cent, adding an extra challenge.

With the support of Veloce Esports, the drivers are confident that they can improve on the team’s fortunes and work their way up in the Drivers’ Championship. Salih, in particular, aims to improve on 6th position having capitalised on the last few races.

The final round will be split into two days, with all practice and qualifying sessions and two of the four races taking place on Friday 16th November. The two final races will take place on Saturday 17th November, once again all at the Gfinity Esports Arena in London.

Salih Saltunç Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 eSports Team Driver:

“It was a good last few races – I am now 6th in the Drivers’ Championship. With the extra race and the chance to score double points, this will be a good opportunity for the team to capitalise.”

Sonuç Saltunç, Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 eSports Team Driver
:

“We had a very successful outing at the last round that has positioned us well in the fight for 3rd place in the Constructors’ Championship. We have put in a lot of hard work leading up to the finals and will do our best to show that as we continue to work our way up the ranks.”

Allert van der Wal, Alfa Romeo Sauber F1 eSports Team Driver:

“So far it has been a season of highs and lows, but we have recently turned around our luck and are determined to challenge for some good points in the final round.”
