Circuit Barcelona - Catalunya

Kvyat goes fastest!

Speaking of late glory laps, Kvyat has thrown one in there for Toro Rosso. Quickest across all three sectors, he lays down a 1m 17.704s to grab the lead, 0.058s ahead of that Raikkonen lap from this morning.

That lap by Ricciardo incidentally, was comfortably Renault's fastest lap so far this week.

It might be late in the day, he might have completed 129 laps, but Kvyat proves there is still some life in the STR14 by popping into second.

But he is immediately replaced by Ricciardo, who manages a 1m 18.164s to replace his former team mate on the leaderboard.

It might be late in the day, but Williams have finally started aero testing. Russell is out, his FW42 liberally decorated with green flow-vis paint.

Grosjean is up to 51 laps now, which added to Fittipaldi's 48 laps from this morning, is a decent output for the team given their headrest and ignition coil technical issues. That is what testing is for - to iron out as many niggles as possible ahead of Melbourne.

Back out comes Russell, as Williams seek to get as much running as possible before the lights go out on day three of pre-season testing. A small lock up going into Turn 10 hampers the rookie, he'll have some vibrations to deal with on his flying laps now.

Into the last hour of testing we go, with Raikkonen still leading the way from Vettel. Will anyone come out for some low fuel runs, or are they all too busy looking at each other and scoping out the competition?

Ricciardo has set a new personal best, three tenths of a second quicker than he managed earlier. And interestingly, his DRS was open, meaning Renault must be confident they have fixed the issue that saw him slide off spectacularly yesterday.

His lap is still 0.698s slower than Hulkenberg managed this morning without DRS though...

George Russell has pulled back into the pits after 4 laps with a personal best of 1m 49.830s, so it is safe to say he hasn't managed to drive that car in anger yet. There is still plenty of time in the day for the youngster to get some running in though.

Robert Kubica for Williams will be the only driver yet to feature around the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Of course, he has considerable experience of F1 and drove in practice sessions last year, but it is hardly the comeback he would have been hoping for.

Romain Grosjean is making good use of his track time, jumping up to P6 with a 1m 19.060s.   That's Haas' fastest lap in Spain so far (just) - but the team have yet to break into the 1m 18s around Barcelona.

Hamilton says Ferrari look 'very, very strong'
Not a sight you often see - the Silver Arrows propping up the timing sheet. Bottas and Hamilton have both set times in the 1m 20's but Mercedes clearly haven't been testing any qualifying engine modes or low fuel runs.

With most of the teams settling in to longer runs, will we see that time of Raikkonen's being beaten today? The last two days have seen the fastest time set in the morning session, but McLaren have been heading out for low-fuel runs very late in the day...

Having logged 114 laps on Monday, Kimi Raikkonen becomes the second driver today to hit the 100-lap mark, as things continue to go swimmingly for the Alfa Romeo driver.

He is at it again - Vettel has passed the 100 lap mark, as Ferrari further hammer home the point that they are the team to watch this week...
