With drivers and team outweighed the anticipation, after all, the Red Bull Ring (07-09 June) is only the second round of the new ADAC GT4 Germany. From the start in Oschersleben, PROpeak Performance took the pole position of Florian Thoma, but not enough points overall.



Not least due to the races in the GT4 European Series, the team from Wiesemscheid, Germany, near the Nürburgring has gained further experience with the still new Aston Martin Vantage GT4. The frequent driver Florian Thoma (Switzerland/23) and Jérémie Lesoudier (France/23) in the #18 Aston Martin and the two-time European GT4 champion Joerg Viebahn (Germany/54) and Joonas Lappalainen (Finland/22) in the #19 Vantage on the 4,318-kilometer Grand Prix circuit in Styria absolutely want to implement these findings.

"How well the Aston Martin will be performing on the Red Bull Ring ultimately depends on the classification. The previous GT4 races have shown that BMW and KTM are currently the measure of all things. We will fight for every point and bring in all our experience and ambition."    




    FACTS ABOUT THE RED BULL RING


•    Standings: Viebahn/Lappalainen are ranked eleventh with eight points in the ADAC GT4 Germany. Joerg Viebahn is also seventh in the Trophy classification  (over 35 years old) with 30 points.


•    Timetable: The first qualifying session is scheduled for Friday at 18:40, the Saturday race will start at 12:50. On Sunday morning at 09:15 the second qualifying follows, the second race starts at 16:30. As usual there will be test sessions on Thursday and two free practice sessions on Friday.


•    Live Broadcast: The Saturday race will be broadcast live by the German TV chanel SPORT1 from 12:45 pm, the Sunday race from 16:25 by SPORT1+. Qualifying and races are also live streamed through the ADAC Motorsport website and ADAC's YouTube channel.

"I go to the Red Bull Ring full of hope. I know the track very well and have already had good races there. Of course, I hope for a place on the podium and will do my best to achieve that. Paul Ricard and now Red Bull Ring - these are exhausting, but also nice weeks with a lot of time in the Aston Martin."



   Jérémie Lesoudier (#18) 
 
"After only six laps at Oschersleben, I hope for a better weekend. Of course I would like to be on the podium. I have prepared well, both with my personal fitness program and with several rounds in the simulator to learn the reference points. In any case, the Red Bull Ring is a great track. Otherwise, I currently have a lot to do. After completing my studies, I moved from Toulouse to Paris. There I start my own company, along with Guy Savoy, one of the best head chefs in the world with three Michelin stars."



   Joerg Viebahn (#19)
 
"The Red Bull Ring is embedded in a beautiful environment, but like many F1 circuits with our GT cars rather a bit boring to drive. I would like to be on the podium twice. We showed our pace in Oschersleben, in the race as well as in qualifying, but unfortunately we did not have the tiniest luck we needed. I looked at some videos for the preparation. I'm looking forward to the classification of our Aston Martin. We miss top speed, so we can not really attack. That's not really fun."



   Joonas Lappalainen (#19)  

"This is the last race weekend during my military service. I'm very happy about it. Now, however, I concentrate fully on the Red Bull Ring. I drove there in 2015 already. This is a pretty unique track, but also a bit bumpy. The kick-off in Oschersleben was tough. We were actually well on the way, but did not have the necessary luck. Now Joerg and I want to reward ourselves for a good performance."
