The Yamaha EX and EXR riders headed to the beautiful resort town of Cavalaire-sur-Mer on the south coast of France for the eighth event of Yamaha's EX/EXR CUP, an initiative between Yamaha Europe and P1 AquaX aimed at attracting Yamaha EX and EXR owners to try their hand at competitive racing with the help and support of an on-site Yamaha technical team.

Someone that has made the most of this new racing opportunity is Britain's Elliot Cable. He bought a brand-new craft at the start of the season and so far this season has won 6 of the 7 events. "It took me a while to get used to riding the EXR but now I'm feeling really confident and the conditions have chopped up this morning so I'm looking forward to getting out and racing my EXR".

Cable was right, with the rough conditions helping him ride his EXR to two wins in the Cup and a victory and second place finish in the Sprint SE class on the first day of racing. His compatriot Harry Robinson took the final win on Sunday, with Frances' Lorensa Masson taking third. But it was Cable who lifted the EX/EXR CUP for the seventh time this season.

"As I predicted it was quite a challenging weekend of racing. Saturday was good but not so lucky on Sunday though my EXR performed perfectly in the rough conditions. But I've got that top spot and that's what I came for." enthused Elliot.

The next Yamaha event will take place in Spain on the weekend of 19th/20th October  in Port Balis, just north of Barcelona where it will join the fourth and final round of the P1 AquaX EuroTour.
