IFM Attracting Attention

30.08.2007: IFM Attracting Attention

International Formula Master’s sensational debut is definitely attracting attention from other championships and last weekend the paddock saw a new entry from the ranks of World Series by Renault.

Daniil Move, who currently drives for Interwetten Racing in the rival series, drove Alan Racing’s Formula S2000 and says he will be back for Monza later in the season.

"I was unlucky in the race but we were very fast," said the 21-year-old Russian, who qualified 15th and finished 22nd and 13th in the two races at Oschersleben, Germany. "I’m happy for this race because I take a lot of experience from my team. They helped me a lot in how to work with set-up on the car and I’m happy that they said I helped them too.

"IFM is a really good package, very competitive. The car is really at a very good level and although I expected the drivers to be good, I heard that maybe only five or six were really fast. I can say after this weekend that it is more like 15 or 20 drivers who are really fast and have a really good future."

Move will not be available to race in the next IFM round at Brands Hatch due to WSR duties at Magny Cours.

As an exciting new single-seater series, IFM offers young, aspiring drivers the chance to prove themselves on an international stage (as it is part of the FIA World Touring Car Championship race weekend package), training and preparing them for the highest echelons of single-seater racing in front of a global TV audience provided by Eurosport.

Featuring N.Technology’s Formula S2000 race car with electric gearshift and clutch paddles and advanced aerodynamics, the car weighs just 550kg including the driver and runs on control tyres by Yokohama. It has already secured 2008 FIA homologation approval – a world first – and has generated excitement from all sectors thanks to its dynamic styling, light-weight body and powerful engine.
