A fortnight after the publication of the race calendar for the forthcoming season, the DTM’s 2020 support package continues to grow and take shape.



DTM umbrella organisation ITR has secured the DMV GT & Touring Car Cup (DMV GTC) as its second permanent race series. It joins the newly established W Series, which enjoyed its first season alongside DTM in 2019, and will join it again for 2020.



The DMV GTC is an established race series for customer racing teams in Germany. Eligible entires include GT3 and GT4 cars, and Porsche Carrera Cup and Lamborghini Trofeo vehicles – all racing alongside each other, but competing within separate classifications. Its inclusion means that GT3 and GT4 competition cars will race on the DTM platform on a regular basis for the very first time.



Alongside DTM’s three key brands of Aston Martin, Audi and BMW, manufacturers like Mercedes, Porsche and McLaren each have GT3 and GT4 cars in their portfolio as part of their customer racing programmes.

The DMV GTC will join DTM at five events next year: the series’ four German rounds (held at Lausitzring, Norisring, Nürburgring and Hockenheimring) as well as the Italian event at the famous Monza circuit. As in DTM, the DMV GTC features one qualifying session and one race each on Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, there will be a 60-minute race, including a mandatory pit-stop, taking place on each Friday, as happens in regular DMV GTC events.

DMV GTC organiser Ralph Monschauer added: “We’re proud that we will be racing on a professional and renowned plaform like the DTM from next year. Our teams and drivers are excited. I expect further competitors to join as well.”
