Over 40 Entrants for Inaugural Radical Cup iRacing Invitational race

Join us on Saturday to enjoy live coverage of the new Radical Cup iRacing Invitational, streamed on radicalsportscars.com

The Radical Cup iRacing Invitational, Radical’s first ever virtual race championship for its drivers and championship supporting cast kicks off this Saturday with over 40 drivers already confirmed from across the world.

Radical champions past and present from both sides of the Atlantic are expected to be joined by guest drivers including 2003 Champ Car World Series Champion Paul Tracy, competing for Radical Arizona’s Apex Motor Club base, and Indy Lights race winner Peter Dempsey, the latter who was also instrumental in Turn 3 Motorsport’s December Thunderhill 25hr win in their SR3 RSX. Races will be broadcast across the globe by ApexRacingTV.com, the same company streaming virtual IndyCar, and will even feature post-race interviews.

The grid includes reigning Radical SR1 Cup Champion Shane Stoney, 2019 Radical Challenge Vice-Champion Jerome de Sadeleer and former European Masters champion Bradley Smith. Heading up the North American contingent are 2018 Blue Marble Cocktails Radical Cup North America Champion Indy Al Miller, three-time Cup SR8 class champion Jesse Menczer, 2019 1500cc Champion Antoine Comeau and Richard Thomas, back-to-back 1500cc champion in 2016 and 2017.

The grid features a truly international flavour with driver entries from as far afield as Australia, Poland, the Philippines, Mexico and the Caribbean. The Radical Cup iRacing Invitational is open to all present and past ‘real-world’ Radical drivers, along with guest invitations to Radical mechanics, coaches and fans of the brand.

The series uses one of the most iconic racing cars from Radical's past on the iRacing platform - the original, visceral 2005 SR8 Supersport. Radical’s spec series features standardized setup ensuring everyone has an equal chance of taking the top step of the virtual podium.

Featuring iconic tracks from North America and Europe, and open to drivers from across the globe, the inaugural six round season commences this Saturday 25 April and runs until mid-June.

Should interest exceed maximum grid capacity (50 cars) a pre-qualifying league will be created for fans, mechanics, coaches and others to shoot out for the remaining 10 grid places. Pre-qualifying (if any) will be hosted on the Friday prior to each event, for a chance to Race the World in Radical’s first virtual championship.
