Formula E Chairman and CEO Alejandro Agag and Jamie Reigle are the latest guest leaders to star on Nico Rosberg's new YouTube series, #Leaders4Good.
 


Rosberg, Agag and Reigle took time to discuss the ongoing impacts of COVID-19 and what they're doing to tackle the pandemic, provide the latest updates on the forthcoming Extreme E series as well as provide insight into Formula E's new partnership with UNICEF.
 


With Agag nearly left stranded in Namibia whilst on a work trip and Reigle recently relocating to Hong Kong with his family, both leaders shared insights into their lives during lockdown so far.



On Formula E's alignment with UNICEF which has bene launched in light of the ongoing global relief effort against coronavirus, Reigle confirmed the partnership will focus on keeping children around the world healthy and learning, with all funds raised being donated to learning programmes, as well as supplies for protective equipment for frontline workers.

With the Formula E season currently suspended in light of COVID-19, Reigle was cautious when speaking about restarting the campaign. "Right now we are working to a plan in late July and August to try and return to racing, but generally speaking we are looking at trying to complete the season with another four to six races."



Whilst not being in a position to confirm where the next E-Prix will be, Reigle also confirmed that the series is speaking to a number of UK locations to replace the London race, currently scheduled for 25 July at the ExCeL Centre, as well as the German round at Berlin Tempelhof, with plans afoot to reschedule and host the race behind closed doors.
 


Agag meanwhile, commented on how Extreme E has been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, stating that the inaugural series' first race may be delayed 'by four to six weeks' due to the ongoing crisis. Agag also spoke about the role that technology will play in Extreme E broadcasts, with augmented and virtual reality being lined up to ensure the action is as exciting as possible for the viewer across its provisional 5-race calendar.
 


The trio spoke about their hopes for the coronavirus crisis accelerating positive action against climate change. Agag commented, “Now we are looking at the consequences of not looking ahead and preparing well for a crisis. One crisis that we know for sure is coming is climate change, so we need to prepare more than ever. "Expanding on the topic of climate change, Agag continued to speak about issues of rising sea levels and temperatures that will have far more devastating and long-lasting consequences than Covid-19.
 


Rosberg has long been a strong advocate for climate action, investing in various green technology start-ups as well as FIA Formula E. In 2019, he founded the Greentech Festival, a global platform for innovative green technologies, which was hosted alongside the Berlin E-Prix in 2019. Rosberg said: “The path to the recovery of our economies must be greener, safer and more considerate of our planet, otherwise, we will run into the next, and much bigger, crisis. The key to this path is technology.
