After what will be a five-month delay to the start of the Motorsport UK British Rallycross Championship 5 Nations Trophy Presented by Cooper Tires, rallycross-starved spectators will now be able to enjoy access to Lydden Hill’s opening round over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
 


There will naturally be stringent rules in place and the organiser (LHMC) and promoter (LHRC) have taken all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of everyone attending. And of course if you or anyone in your household has any symptoms of Covid-19 you MUST NOT attend.
 


Tickets to the event over the August Bank Holiday weekend (30/31 August) will be restricted in number, compliant with the Government guidelines at the time of the event, and available by booking online at https://lyddenhill.co.uk/events/motorsport-uk-british-rallycross-5-nations-trophy-round-5/.
 


As LHRC is required by law to keep a record of all visitors for 21 days, it’s imperative that the correct information is submitted at the time of booking. Season pass holders and resident pass holders may attend as normal.
 


Entry will be restricted to the grassed viewing areas, with currently no paddock access for public, although guidelines are changing regularly, so please keep checking social media channels for updates. Social distancing must of course still be adhered to, currently this is between two households; if you are seen not adhering to the Covid-19 signage and guidelines you will be removed from the circuit.
 


The organisers also strongly suggest that spectators use face coverings and have installed hand sanitising bays around the venue. Queuing systems will be in place for accessing the toilets and for the take-away catering units, where contactless and card payments only will be accepted.
 


So, what can spectators expect when they get to Lydden Hill? A grid full of turbocharged, 4WD Supercars, eager to unleash their 600 horses after being stabled for months. An ever-growing entry of Super 1600 drivers, many arriving from Belgium and the Netherlands all desperate to capitalise on the promoter’s generous offer of a one-off Supercar race in 2021 for the champion.
 


17 BMW Minis will take to the grid for their opening round in the popular one-make series, we’ve got Supernational cars arriving from Poland, Ireland, Belgium and the Netherlands as well as the UK. Retro Rallycross drivers are well catered for with three classes in 2020, including the new 4WD/GpB category, which has a £10,000 prize fund for the winner.

And rounding out the on-track action, the Swift Sport Rallycross Championship, Motorsport UK British Junior Rallycross Championship and RX150s have attracted several drivers already, and the event is still nearly two months away!
 


Off-track, the promoter has laid on a myriad of activities across the weekend, with further details of that to be announced very shortly.
