2007 FIM SuperMoto World Championship
With the FIM SuperMoto World Championship making its debut on the brand new circuit of Pleven, Bulgaria, a new era has begun for the sport.
The former off-road section, which is now called sky, is covered with tarmac; this solution was never adopted before, but has already proved to be extremely successful.

KTM factory rider Bernd Hiemer rode a 4-5 result on Sunday for overall fifth place in Alcarras, Lleida, Spain in the S1 Supermoto Grand Prix on a brand new circuit that demanded more from road racing skills than offroad.

KTM factory rider Bernd Hiemer and all the riders in the Supermoto S1 class had more to contend with on Saturday night than the new experience of competing in a night time race.
Hiemer managed a fifth place in the first race but for the later night race only came across the finish line at fourteenth for an overall seventh in the season's second event.
