Since the 2020 season restarted, the action has been coming thick and fast in the FIA World Rally Championship.

Now the drivers head to Sardinia for a later-than-usual date with the Italian island’s tricky gravel stages. The championship is still all to play for: Elfyn Evans leads the way after his win in Turkey with Sébastien Ogier, Ott Tänak, Kalle Rovanperä and Thierry Neuville all in hot pursuit.

Red Bull TV will bring you coverage of Rally Italy live and on-demand throughout the weekend, plus an in-depth look back at the event in Monday’s Rally Rewind show.

Sardinia: The challenge

* Sardinia has been hosting the WRC ever since 2004, when the Italian round of the championship moved from Sanremo. Postponed from June, this year’s event will be the first to be held in the autumn since 2012.

* The change of date could bring a mix up in the weather conditions. It should still be warm – if not quite as scorching as in the summer – but the chance of rain will be increased.

* Sardinia’s stages are typically fast but narrow, with rocks and bushes ready to catch out the unwary. The roads themselves are coated in a sandy surface that gets swept away over the first pass of each stage, leaving a rougher and rutted route for the second pass.

* On each day of this year’s event, drivers will have to find a compromise with their car setup between getting the grip needed for the first pass and the ruggedness required for the second pass, as they’ll tackle some stages twice before they return to service.

As opposed to the previous two rounds in Estonia and Turkey, Rally Italy will give us three full days of action from Friday to Saturday. Red Bull TV will broadcast highlights of the action at the end of each day, as well as live coverage of the Coiluna – Loelle 2 stage on Saturday.

Mike Chen and his expert guest will then take you behind-the-scenes in the service park on Monday’s Rally Rewind show.

Every broadcast is available on demand to watch at any time, wherever you're connected on redbull.tv or via the app.
