Despite stopping the race: Leipert Motorsport master’s chaotic race of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe with class victories and overall podiums in Spa-Francorchamps



Last weekend at the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe, the team from Wegberg was again able to impress with two class wins and further podium successes. The race weekend on the Ardennes-Rollercoaster as part of the 24-hour race was overshadowed on Saturday by a heavy accident which led to the stoppage of the second race.


One after the other, the last races of the season are being held. Last weekend the two penultimate rounds of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe were held as part of the prestigious Spa-Francorchamps 24-hour race. For the MOTUL supported team from Wegberg, the event was crowned with success.



AM class win and two further podium finishes in the first race


Fidel Leib and Yury Wagner on the Profi-Car Lamborghini #21 impressed in the first race with the victory in the AM class. Yury Wagner provided the spectators thrilling duels and handed over the steering wheel to Fidel Leib in tenth place overall. After the driver change, Fidel Leib was able to defeat another rival and crossed the finish line as ninth overall: A fantastic success for the driver duo - in the Top Ten overall and a class win!


Also in the PRO-AM class Leipert Motorsport, together with Mikko Eskelinen and Elias Niskanen on the Mad-Croc Lamborghini #30, claimed a well-deserved podium success: During an exciting race to catch up, the "Flying Finns" fought their way from 14th place on the grid to seventh place overall and finished P2 in the PRO-AM class.


The PRO driver duo Noah Watt and Sebastian Balthasar on the #2 also let the bull off the leash: In the first stint, Balthasar delivered exciting fights that made him move up to second position. Watt took over the steering wheel after the first half of the race and crossed the finish line as third overall after thrilling duels.



The third podium finish of this race for Leipert Motorsport! The result of the first race was completed by the impressive Top 10 result of Jonathan Judek and Guillem Pujeu on #69. After a perfect performance, the duo secured 8th place overall and P6 in the PRO class.



Another class win and Top Ten results despite the race being stopped


The second race was overshadowed by a massive racing accident, which led to a race stoppage shortly after the pit stop window was closed. Fidel Leib and Yury Wagner again won the AM class after the early end of the race. Mikko Eskelinen and Elias Niskanen achieved P3 in the PRO-AM class.

Sebastian Balthasar and Noah Watt finished the race in third place in the Pro Class, while Jonathan Judek and Guillem Pujeu finished their strongest race of the season in fifth place in the PRO Class.




Grand finale at Circuit Paul Ricard in France


Leipert Motorsport again fought for successful results, class wins and podium places with great team cohesion - despite a chaotic race weekend under tougher Corona conditions in Belgium and a race stoppage. The Lamborghini Super Trofeo season will end in mid-November (13-15.11.20) with the grand finale and rounds nine and ten at Circuit Paul Ricard in France.
