Lucas, Daniele and Shanaka ready to showcase recent improvements
Aiming to Sign Off in Style

The BWT Racing Point F1 Esports Team’s line-up of Lucas Blakeley, Daniele Haddad and Shanaka Clay plan to end the 2020 F1 Esports Pro Series on a high.
The team is looking to build on its best result of sixth place this season and add more points to the board to sign off a challenging campaign on a high note.
Last time out, the trio threatened the points in all three races at Spa, Silverstone and Monza – only for events to conspire against them.
But the team has worked hard since Event Three to find improvements and knows gains in Qualifying can be a springboard to strong results.
Fan Favourite Tracks for the Finale
Event Four is a fresh start for the team and races in Japan, Mexico and Brazil are sure to thrill viewers and drivers alike.
The team has had success at these venues in the past, with Lucas memorably scoring a second-place finish at Suzuka on just his second start for the team in 2019.
Meanwhile, Daniele scored his best result at the team in Brazil last year, taking a P6 finish.
That pedigree means that the duo is the obvious choice for the three races, with new-for-2020 driver Shanaka Clay providing key support in a reserve role.
How to Follow
The F1 Esports Pro Series has had some tweaks ahead of the 2020 campaign including a new qualifying format that will closely replicate the real-world Formula 1 qualifying format.
Races have also been increased to 35% race distance for the coming campaign, while the latest F1 2020 video game has also been improved on its predecessor and will further challenge the drivers.
Fans can follow live coverage on the team’s social channels, while Formula 1 has increased its broadcast offering for 2020.
Qualifying will now be broadcast over Twitch and Huya, while the daily evening shows will be broadcast live through Formula 1’s select TV partners.
Fans in the UK, Italy and Germany can see the action unfold on Sky Sports, with ESPN providing the broadcast for the USA. SuperSport will broadcast across Africa while Fox Sports will broadcast in Latin America and Australia. Ziggo will provide the Dutch broadcast, while Nordic Entertainment Group covers Scandinavia.

A Few Words
Lucas Blakeley, Esports Driver at BWT Racing Point F1 Esports Team:
“We want to come out of this Event having ended the season on a high note. We know that qualifying has been a difficult thing for us to maximise this season, so we’ll go into it looking to extract every last bit of performance from the car and find the last few tenths we’ve been missing.
I’m excited to get going for this event because Japan, Brazil and Mexico make up such a fun triple-header. I have great memories of Japan from last year and Brazil is a real drivers’ favourite and should be one to watch for the fans.
Mexico is new this year, but I expect overtaking to be possible there and tyre wear could provide an interesting dynamic too. It’s going to be a hectic finale, but if we can get on top of things, we can end this season in a positive way.”
Daniele Haddad, Esports Driver at BWT Racing Point F1 Esports Team:
“It’s been a more difficult season than we expected after such a positive Pro Exhibition Series at the beginning of the year. The positive is that we know we have the pace; we’ve just found adjusting to F1 2020 challenging – as have other teams. We’ve also had luck go against us in all three Events too, which is frustrating.
We need to qualify better in the races and start from stronger positions because this is such as high level of Esports and it’s very challenging to make your way through the field. I’m really looking forward to Brazil in particular, as we have historically gone well there. Japan is such a historic track and it’s great fun to drive.
Mexico will be very interesting because there’s lots of little tricks to getting the most out of a lap – especially at the first few corners – so I think it’ll put on a great race. We can prove our potential this week and hopefully, we’ll have a really enjoyable event.”
Shanaka Clay, Esports Driver at BWT Racing Point F1 Esports Team:
“The goal is to move forward and improve on recent Events and I think the work we’ve done since Event Three has been a positive step in the right direction. I’m confident we can demonstrate our underlying pace if we execute qualifying more strongly in Event Four.
We have nothing to lose and we’re going to three exciting and challenging tracks, so there will be opportunities for us. I’m really looking forward to Mexico in particular, it feels great when you hook the car up through there and should be great for the viewers back home!
We know the field is going to be very close again so Q1 and Q2 are going to be crucial. If we can get through those and start getting into Q3 regularly, we can have a strong finish to the campaign.”
