•    British Grand Prix to host round two of three, after team’s young drivers finished seventh and eleventh in last weekend’s opening round


•    Nicolas Longuet and Fabrizio Donoso to form Pro Series line-up again for the Sprint Race




Alpine F1 Team can reveal that popular YouTubers Squeezie and TheAmusante, will make up the team’s second driver-line up for round two of the 2021 Virtual Grand Prix series around the British Grand Prix on Sunday.
 


Making his first ever appearance in the Virtual Grand Prix series is the French born Squeezie, otherwise known as Lucas Hauchard, who has over 15 million followers on his YouTube channel which he started ten years ago.
 


Joining him in the virtual hotseat is Aléthéa Boucq, who is no stranger to virtual racing having started her own sim racing channel on YouTube. Under the handle of TheAmusante, she started the channel to compete at a high level within Esports and with the aim to bring more women into sim racing and motorsports.
 


The pair will be backed up by the Pro Series gamers Nicolas Longuet and Fabrizio Donoso, who will once again form the driver pairing for the Sprint Race to determine the order of the Feature Race grid.
 


The two influencers will look to build on last weekend’s opening round of the series – which saw the team under Oscar Piastri and Christian Lundgaard – finish seventh and eleventh respectively. In an incident packed race, the nineteen-year-old Australian was the only driver in the field to come away without a time penalty.  
 


The charity prize fund is set to be distributed at next weekend’s third and final Virtual Grand Prix at the Brazilian Grand Prix with the championship standings still wide open.




Guillaume Vergnas, Partnerships Development and Esports Manager: “It was an exciting start to the Virtual Grand Prix series last weekend around the Austrian Grand Prix. Both our drivers, Oscar and Christian, were involved in a chaotic start, but they got their heads down and delivered a strong race for the team. Oscar was particularly impressive to avoid acquiring a time penalty, he was the only driver in the field not to receive one by the chequered flag.



We’re excited about our round two driver line-up, with YouTubers Squeezie and TheAmusante taking the virtual hotseat this time. They are both very familiar with gaming and together with our Pro Series gamers it’s a strong line-up. In the end, the results are for charity, so we are looking to deliver more points this weekend and do well for our chosen charity partner, The Talent Tap.”
