Denis Protsenko heades Headquarter for maintenance and control fo the Covid-19 mitigation plan of the Silk Way Rally

05.04.2021: In 2021, a Headquarters for the maintenance and control of the COVID-19 Mitigation Plan was created in the structure of the International Silk Way Rally Project.

In 2021, a Headquarters for the maintenance and control of the COVID-19 Mitigation Plan was created in the structure of the International Silk Way Rally Project.

Denis Protsenko, symbol of the fight against the pandemic in Russia, one of the main specialists in the treatment of coronavirus infection in Russia and in the world, Hero of Labor of the Russian Federation, Chief Medical Officer of the SBHI Moscow City Clinical Hospital– one of the main Covid-19 centers in the country, was invited to head the Headquarters.

There are three months before the start of the Silk Way Rally 11th edition. One of the world’s largest cross-country competitions that is traditionally held in the middle of summer is once again ready to give the participants the joy of fighting for the victory in one of the most difficult races on the planet.

The past year has become a serious challenge for everyone who is connected with motorsports. In 2020, the Silk Way Rally organizers had to cancel the 10th anniversary edition of the race. In 2021, the course has been changed – the Silk Way International Rally route will begin in the city of Omsk, Russia on 1 July. Participants will have 10 days of breathtaking adventures in the most picturesque places on the planet: across the territory of Russia and Mongolia.

Despite the inevitable difficulties associated with the race held across the territories of two neighboring friendly states under conditions of restrictions, the Silk Way Rally organizers are determined to successfully implement this project at the highest sporting level, while observing all safety measures for each participant.

This is what caused the involvement of Denis Protsenko as the Head of the Headquarters for the management and control of the COVID-19 Mitigation Plan compliance at the Silk Way Rally.

The organizers of such a wide-scale event that will be held across the territories of the two countries have approached the issue of the race participants safety with great responsibility. The invitation of Denis Protsenko became one of the important steps in the concept of the competition epidemiological safety and in the organization of the Silk Way Rally in difficult epidemiological conditions.

The inclusion of Denis Protsenko in the team of race organizers is only the beginning of the work to protect the participants of the upcoming cross-country rally. In accordance with the COVID-19 Mitigation Plan of the FIA International Sporting Code, as well as in accordance with Russian national and local regulations, the Silk Way Rally organizers have developed a “Plan to counter the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus infection” that defines a number of requirements, which will be applied throughout the cross-country rally.

Acceptance of applications from participants is open and preparations for the race are in full swing. The 2021 Silk Way Rally will take place from 1 to 11 July along the Russia – Mongolia route as event of the FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies series and  the event of the FIM Cross-Country Rally World Championship.

Quotes

Vladimir Chagin, Head of the International Project Silk Way Rally
, “There are only a few months before the start of the Silk Way Rally 11th edition. The preparation process for the upcoming race has reached the home stretch. In 2021, the epidemiological safety of the rally participants is of great importance.

It was a great honor for us that such an experienced and authoritative specialist in the fight against coronavirus infection as Denis Nikolayevich Protsenko has agreed to head the Headquarters for the management and control of the COVID-19 Mitigation Plan compliance of the Silk Way Rally.

I’m confident that he will strengthen the organizing team and provide invaluable assistance in organizing and coordinating the process of monitoring the protection of race participants against COVID-19”.

Denis Protsenko, Head of the Headquarters for the management and control of the COVID-19 Mitigation Plan compliance of the Silk Way Rally,
“I’m glad that such a large-scale sporting event will take place in Russia and Mongolia, that at last, after a forced break, it became possible to hold such ambitious competitions.

As the Head of the Headquarters for the management and control of the COVID-19 Mitigation Plan compliance of the Silk Way Rally, I will help in organizing the safety process of the race participants. I’m happy to join such a large and experienced international team!”
