International karting will make a stop in France in the Normandy region for the 2nd Round of the FIA European Championship of the OK and OK Junior classes this weekend.




After the opening event that took place in Belgium just 15 days ago, for the direct drive classes it is already time for a revenge and confirmation in this important continental Championship made of 4 races. After France, we will head to Italy for the 3rd Round in Sarno and the last race is scheduled for July on the Zuera track, in Spain.



The first round was not particularly lucky for the CRG Racing Team and the entire squad is strongly determined to get a positive result. The CRG drivers took part in a 2-day-testing session over the past few weeks there on the French track and their feedback was very positive.



The circuit layout is very technical and complete and has both, a fast part and a much slower sector. The weather could also be a variable this weekend, but for the final stages on Sunday we are expecting a dry track and sun at the moment.



The weekend program will start with the first free practice on Thursday, which will then continue on Friday morning, before qualifying. Saturday will be entirely dedicated to the heats, which will end on Sunday morning, when we will know the starting grids of the Finals.

Drivers’ expectations for the race weekend:
 


Ruben Moya (OK): “During the weekend in Genk we didn't express our real potential, due to a technical problem and two contacts in the heats and we know we can have a good race here in France.


Obviously everything will have to go off smoothly and we will try to use the latest free practice well, also to evaluate some technical updates that we brought after taking part to the testing sessions on this track 10 days ago”.





Simone Bianco (OKJ): “We have had good performances for some races, but we have not been able to achieve a significant result, so the main objective of this race will be to make as few mistakes as possible, to secure a good position on the grid for the Final.


The competition format of the European Championship without the pre-finals requires an almost perfect path in the heats and above all, we will have to do a good qualifying. I liked the track a lot and I hope it doesn't rain to be able to carry out a more linear work program"
