Palomba wins KZ2's race1 and pulls away in the classification, Tormen wins race2. The other winners are: Orjuela and Costoya in MINI Gr.3, Rocchio and Carfagna in 60 Minikart, Larini won two times in Rok Junior and Donno in Rok Senior.

The fourth round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship at the Circuit of Siena has been intense and the finals have been hard-fought. On track were the categories KZ2, MINI Gr.3, 60 Minikart, Rok Junior and Senior as the latter run their third and closing round. A good presence was scored again by MINI Gr.3, which counted 56 young karting talents from 20 different nations.

Palomba wins race1 and pulls away in the championship. Tormen wins race2.

The weekend in Siena saw Giuseppe Palomba (LG Motorsport/BirelART-TM Racing) victorious again in KZ2. He dominated race1 after having the upper hand in qualifying practice and heats. This victory allowed the 20 years old driver from Naples to pull away in the overall classification as well as in the Under-20.

Palomba won the first final taking an early lead and then managing the advantage on his rivals all the way to the flag when he proceeded Giacomo Pollini (NGM Motorsport/CRG-TM Racing) by over 2s and Alessio Piccini (Tribe One/BirelART-TM Racing). Pollini had to serve a 5s time penalty though due to the dropped front fairing due to a contact with Piccini and Moritz Ebner (Tec Tac/BirelART-TM Racing) and was therefore pushed down to P4.

Alessio Piccini was excluded due to a technical irregularity therefore the second place went to Moritz Ebner and the third to Marco Tormen (Modena Kart/BirelART-TM Racing), who recovered very well from the off on Saturday’s second heat due to the slippery tarmac.

The fourth-place went to Alessio Baldi (Intrepid Driver/Intrepid-TM Racing), who led Alex Maragliano (Renda Motorsport/BirelART-TM Racing), Luigi Di Lorenzo (Modena Kart/BirelART-TM Racing) and Matteo Mazzucchelli (Top Kart-TM Racing). The top 3 of the Under-20 classification was occupied by Giuseppe Palomba, Mortiz Ebner and Marco Tormen.

In Race2 Marco Tormen recovered several places and took on the lead, followed by Giacomo Pollini, while Giuseppe Palomba struggled a bit more from P8 due also to a “slow” period that last 5 laps after an incident.

In the closing laps, Tormen easily managed the situation and claimed a deserved win, while Pollini maintained P2 fending off Palomba all the way to the flag. The fourth-place went to Matteo Mazzucchelli, who led Alessio Baldi. Palomba was again on the top step of the Under-20 podium, while Moritz Ebner was second and Alex Maragliano third.

Orjuela and Costoya win the two finals of MINI Gr.3.

MINI Group 3 was decided in the closing two laps when the American Matias Orjuela (Parolin Motorsport/Parolin-TM Racing) managed to find his way past Czech Republic’s Jindric Pesl (BabyRace/Parolin-Iame), who led the whole race up to that point.

The third place went to another protagonist of the weekend in Siena, the Swiss Kilian Josseron (Team Driver/KR-Iame). The fourth place went to the Swede Oliver Kinnmark (Parolin Motorsport/Parolin-TM Racing), while the Thai Enzo Tarnvanichkul (Team Driver/KR-Iame) was demoted from P5 to P9 by a 3s time penalty.

The Belgian Dries Van Langendonck (BirelART Racing/BirelART-TM Racing) ended therefore fifth leading the Spanish driver Christian Costoya (Parolin Motorsport/Parolin-TM Racing), the Dutch Dean Hoogendoorn (Kidix/Alonso-Iame) and the Slovenian Matic Presa (BirelART/TM Racing).

Christian Costoya took the lead since the beginning of race2 and claimed the victory, while Jindric Pesl was second after a good recovery race. Filippo Sala (Team Driver/KR-Iame) recovered a stunning 10 places and ended third. Matic Presa was fourth leading race1 winner Matias Orjuela.

Rocchio wins race1 in 60 Minikart, Carfagna race2.

The sprint to the line in 60 Minikart’s Race1 was won by Gino Rocchio (Team Driver/KR-TM Racing) again. He claimed also the pole position and the victory in the heats. In the first of the two finals, the main rival of Rocchio was Giacomo Giusto (Revolution/Energy-TM Racing), who was second overall and first of the Under-10.

The gap between the two was only 0.047s. The third place went to Angelo D’Ortensio (KR-TM Racing), while the fourth and the second among the Under-10 went to Edoardo Mario Sulpizio (TK Kart/EKS-TM Racing) after a 9 place recovery. Tamas Gender (Team Driver/KR-Iame) was fifth, while Nico Carfagna (Parolin-TM Racing) was sixth overall and third in the Under-10.

Gino Rocchio lost his chance for a double win in the second final due to a spin on lap one. Nico Carfagna kept the lead until the end, while Giacomo Giusto was second again and Antonio Parlapiano (Parolin-TM Racing) was third. The fourth-place went to Mattia Padoan (Team Driver/KR-TM Racing), who secured the Under10 podium behind Carfagna and Giusto.

Double win for Davide Larini in Rok Junior.

In Rok Junior and Rok Senior this was the third and closing round of the Italian Championship. The first of the two finals went to Davide Larini (Newman Motorsport/Tony Kart-Vortex), who claimed his maiden win in the Italian Championship. Larini won a very tight race in which his teammate Giacomo Pedrini, had to retire in the closing lap after being on top since the start.

The second place went to Mattia Jentile (Autoeuropeo/Tony Kart-Vortex), while Thomas Baldassarri (Newman Motorsport/Tony Kart-Vortex) was third and Alberto Kiko Fracassi (Tony Kart-Vortex) fourth. The classification leader Alessandro Antonelli (Parolin-Vortex) was fifth after gaining 9 places.

Davide Larini took another win in race2 after recovering 7 places due to the top 8 grid inversion. The second place went to the Pole Piotr Czaja (Exprit Racing/Kosmic-Vortex), the third to Nicolò Cappotelli (KGT Motorsport/Tony Kart-Vortex), while Alessandro Antonelli ended with a good fourth place.

Double win and Rok Senior title for Eliseo Donno.

The victory of Rok Senior went to Eliseo Donno (KGT Motorsport/Tony Kart-Vortex), who led race1 from lights to flag and took the lead of the championship. The second place went to the Pole Karol Czepiel (Exprit Racing/Exprit-Vortex), while Emanuele Bruscino (Kosmic-Vortex) was third. The other protagonist of the championship Marco Matera (MAD Racing/Tony Kart-Vortex) had to retire instead.

Eliseo Donno climbed up to the lead again in race2 and secured another win that earned him the title. Karol Czepiel and Emanuele Bruscino rounded off the podium respectively in P2 and P3.
