The sixth round of the Michelin Pilot Challenge took place in rainy weather at the beautiful Road America track in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.

After a good first part of the race from his teammate Rory Van der Steur, Denis Dupont was fifth in the TCR standings when the drivers changed. "A yellow flag appeared shortly before the halfway point", explains the driver of the #19 Hyundai Veloster N TCR. "We had to change drivers at that point, but at the same time we knew that I would have to save fuel for most of my stint.



Returning to the track in fifth position, Denis managed to stay with the leading group, while conserving fuel. At the end of the two-hour race, the Belgian driver finished in second place. "It's a very satisfying result", explains the Castelbrain native living in Montreal. "It was a very strategic race, where one of my opponents crashed and the other one ran out of fuel in the last few kilometres.



"I would like to thank ATG, Winmax, Rory and the whole Van Der Steur Racing team for their support and work since the beginning of the year. We were not very good in the first part of the season. This first podium has a very special flavour", concludes the Belgian driver.



We will see Denis Dupont on track again on the weekend of September 12 on a new mythical track as the Michelin Pilot Chellenge will go to Laguna Seca. The race will again be available for live streaming on IMSA.TV.
