Driving our virtual cars will once again be Joni Törmälä, joined by two newcomers Sebastian Job and Dario Iemmulo.

Scuderia AlphaTauri Esports Team is proud to announce its driver line up for the F1 Esports Pro Championship 2021. Driving our virtual cars will once again be Joni Törmälä, joined by two newcomers Sebastian Job and Dario Iemmulo.



This year, the virtual Formula 1 championship is more popular than ever with almost half a million virtual drivers from all four corners of the globe having taken part in the online qualifying stages, on various game platforms. This was then whittled down to the best of the sim-racers who, along with those who took part last year, made up the Pro Rank.



From this elite group, the ten official teams that compete in F1 Esports, chose at least one driver to add to their roster for the Pro Championship 2021. We chose Englishman Sebastian Job and the Italian Dario Iemmulo, to join the aforementioned Törmälä.



Sebastian was born in 2000 in East Grinstead, UK. He began sim-racing in 2015 and rapidly made a name for himself as one of the stars in sports car racing. The 21 year old has always raced on iRacing and last year he took a fantastic win in the iRacing 12 Hours of Sebring, as well as victory in the Porsche Esports Supercup, which was always a great ambition of his.



All these results came while flying the flag for our friends at Red Bull Racing Esports! But for 2021, Seb wanted to also compete in the world of virtual Formula 1 and thus joined the Pro Rank thanks to great results in the online Qualifying and in the subsequent Pro Exhibition. He will now race in the F1 Esports Pro Championship 2021 with the Scuderia AlphaTauri Esports Team.



Dario Iemmulo is seventeen and from Sicily and he secured his place as one of the Scuderia AlphaTauri Esports drivers thanks to a great performance in the F1 Esports Challenger Series, reaching the world top six on the Playstation and then joining the Pro Rank. Dario also represented Italy in the Nations League, taking two wins and three podium places over the course of the six rounds.



Dario joins us from the Italian Esports team, GL17CH with whom we had the pleasure of working last year at the Virtual Grand Prix Series 2021, when the Italian national football team’s striker, Ciro Immobile got behind the wheel of one of our virtual cars.



Dario and Sebastian are thus new team-mates to Joni Törmälä who raced for us last year. Joni is from Finland, born in 1996 and began his sim-racer career in 2009 and joined F1 Esports in the maiden season of global virtual Formula 1 racing in 2017, picking up some excellent results.



The Pro Championship 2021 runs from October to December with four events of three races each, shown live also on our digital channels.

13 – 14 Oct – Event 1 (Sakhir, Shanghai, Spielberg)

27 – 28 Oct – Event 2 (Silverstone, Monza, Spa)

24 – 25 Nov – Event 3 (Portimão, Zandvoort, Austin)

15 – 16 Dec – Event 4 (Imola, Mexico City, Sao Paolo)



In each round, every driver will tackle all the elements of a real race weekend, from free practice to Qualifying to the Grand Prix itself, which is run over 35% of the real distance.


 The software platform is the Codemasters F1 2021, Formula 1’s official video game. Apart from race strategy and car set-up, the rest is down to the driver, as all the cars are set to the same performance level.
