• De Sadeleer and Metge gain valuable experience in the Moroccan desert.

• Brand new TG-D1 T4 buggy proved to be a competitive choice for the team.

• Saudi based Team Galag will announce extended Rally-Raid program in the coming weeks.

Newly formed Saudi Rally Raid outfit, Team Galag had a successful outing at the Rallye du Maroc. Their new TG-D1 T4 buggy encountered minimal issues along the gruelling 5-day rally thanks to the expert support of MMP Competition.

The 40 plus degree heat did not deter the new team from pushing their buggy to the limit. De Sadeleer qualified in P7 on the prologue but fell back during the race days following some minor mechanical issues.

Co-Driver Mika Metge was able to continue honing his navigation skills following his switch from motorbikes. Team Galag will be adding a second buggy to its next rally participation. The program will be announced soon.

Jerome de Sadeleer, driver, Team Galag:

“To be honest, the Rallye du Maroc was a much harder rally than I had anticipated. That being said, we generally had very good race pace, and I think we gained extremely valuable experience. There are a few updates that need to be made to the buggy, and we will definitely come out stronger at our next rally.

Mika Metge, co-driver, Team Galag: “Jerome and I work together well and our race pace on hard surfaces was strait away very quick. We still have some learning to do on the sand but we are confident we will have some good pace moving forward.”

Talal Al Faisal, Founder & Team Owner, Team Galag:

"I am delighted to see the team finish our first Rallye du Maroc as we have been planning this participation for many months now. Team Galag leaves Morocco with its head high as we know what we need to improve in order to be competitive.

I was impressed with Jerome and Mika’s speed and am glad that they work well together. Next step is to bring on a second crew to the team and I look forward to announcing that in the near future.”

Cyril Neveu, Team Principal, Team Galag:

“The Rallye du Maroc 2021 was a particularly hard rally this year. The team experienced extreme temperatures and a lot of sand. I leave this rally feeling good about where we are as a team.

The buggy worked well, Jerome and Mika have a good relationship and the pace was not that far from the top guys. Once we have built some more experience, I have no doubt we will be competing for some of the top spots.”
