Motorsport UK Academy is pleased to unveil GARMIN as its latest Official Partner
04.11.2022: GARMIN are industry leaders and innovators in engineering GPS navigation and wearable technology across a range of sectors, including the automotive, aviation, marine, outdoor and fitness markets.
|
GARMIN are industry leaders and innovators in engineering GPS navigation and wearable technology across a range of sectors, including the automotive, aviation, marine, outdoor and fitness markets.

One of their recent innovations, the GARMIN Catalyst™ Driving Performance Optimiser, will sit at the heart of a new partnership with the UK’s governing body and membership organisation for motorsport, with specific use and application across the Academy’s programmes.
Mounted into the cockpit of cars for on-track use, Catalyst™ has a number of features designed to aid driver performance, including performance data, real-time audible cues, and immediate session analysis, delivered using a HD-quality remote camera and 7-inch screen.
Catalyst™ also comes preloaded with a track database of circuits worldwide, plus the opportunity to add your own, enriching the database – and opportunities for improvement – to drivers of all abilities.
It’s capabilities will not only assist drivers at all four stages of the Motorsport UK Academy’s pathway, from the Enhanced Diploma in Sporting Excellent (DiSE) through to the elite Team UK squad competing at international level, but also their coaches, too.

Last year, Motorsport UK created and launched a Coaching Development Pathway. Often seen traditionally as a tool for elite athletes looking to enhance their individual performance, Motorsport UK now seeks to encourage and engage participants at all levels of the sport, by helping aspirational coaches to develop, on a professional and a personal front. GARMIN will also provide a dedicated offering to graduating coaches using Motorsport UK’s Coaching Development Pathway.
Using Catalyst™, the Academy will not only be able to offer performance gains to its athletes, competing in a range of disciplines across a broad spectrum of the sport, but ensure its coaches continue to deliver programmes to the highest standard.
Jack Fairbrother, Head of Brand Marketing for UK and Ireland said: “We are thrilled to partner with Motorsport UK Academy and bring the innovation behind Garmin Catalyst™ to the forefront of both drivers and coaches.

With Garmin’s long history developing Automotive products and our more recent advancements in driving performance technology, we believe this to be a natural pairing of brands. We look forward to working together to see what can be achieved – both on and off the track.’’
Hugh Chambers, Chief Executive Officer of Motorsport UK said: “Motorsport UK Academy is excited to announce this partnership with GARMIN.
“The development of competitors and coaches is something the organisation is very committed towards, evidenced by both the Academy and our new Coaching pathway. Coaching is a significant aspect of any success within the sport in the modern era, and Catalyst™ helps raise the level of tuition readily available to a wider range of competitors.
“We look forward to working with them and applying Catalyst™ across our programmes in the future.”
Daniel Smith, Motorsport UK
