The 2023 season will see the arrival of a new championship to the single-seater scenario with all the ingredients to become the benchmark for drivers coming from Formula 4 series.

Eurocup-3, where the participating teams will be involved in the day-to-day organization of the championship, will look after the good of the teams and their drivers from the very beginning with a clear premise: equality on and off the track to offer the best possible show.

A common budget agreed by the teams, limited testing and an optimized calendar together with the F4 Spanish Championship will lay the foundations of this series to achieve this goal.

The calendar, which already has closed and confirmed dates, will feature 8 races, 4 in Spain and 4 around Europe and each of the events will consist of 2 free practice sessions of 40 minutes each, 2 qualifying  sessions of 15 minutes each and 2 races of 30 minutes + 1 lap each.

The car will be produced by Tatuus Racing and will have a tailor-made aerodynamic package to facilitate handling and overtaking. Its engine will be Alfa Romeo prepared by Autotecnica Motori with 1750cc and around 300 HP of power. It will also include a push-to-pass system to add extra adrenaline to each race.

It is a great opportunity of growth for most of the drivers coming from Formula 4, due to the polarization of the grids of other categories, both at a budgetary and sporting level.

Eurocup-3 was presented to teams and drivers of the F4 Spanish Championship last November 12 during its last event of the year in Barcelona.

The idea was very well received and was supported not only by teams such as Campos Racing, MP Motorsport, Drivex and GRS Team to be part of it, but also of other main players such as RFEDA, PFC Brakes, Hankook or Tatuus and Autotecnica Motori themselves.

Álvaro Martínez de Tejada, General Coordinator at Eurocup-3:
“For us it is a very promising project, as it will be applied the same formula that has made the F4 Spanish Championship grow to the levels where it is today. Undoubtedly, there is still a long way to go, but we are convinced that it will be a successful project because it will offer a championship that does not exist at the moment in the market“.

Manuel Aviñó, President of the Spanish Royal Motorsport Federation
: “I want to thank all the members of the team that has made the F4 Spanish Championship grow the way it has. This management model ensures equality on track, so the new Eurocup-3 will have the full support of the RFEDA. For us, it will be a cause of pride to have such a single-seater championship in Spain“.

Giovanni Delfino, CEO at Tatuus Racing:
“We firmly believe in this project and both Tatuus and Autotecnica Motori will do their best to offer the car that this championship deserves. In terms of performance, it will be a completely new car“.
