British driver Ben Hanley is the latest name to be unveiled in United Autosports’ 2023 World Endurance Championship line-up.


 
Hanley, a blisteringly quick race winner with experience in LMP2 races around the world, will appear at WEC Portimão and Monza in the United Autosports #22 Oreca 07. He will be joined by fellow Brit and 2020 WEC champion Phil Hanson and one other driver, who is yet to be announced.
 


Filipe Albuquerque, long-standing #22 car teammate, will be racing stateside in IMSA on the two WEC weekends – so, just as Giedo van der Garde is joining the #23 United car in place of Tom Blomqvist (read more), Hanley will do a double dose of racing for the team at the two European rounds.
 


For United Autosports, 2023 is about reclaiming the world title and Hanley - who took part in Renault F1 Team’s Driver Development Program (2006-08) and won the Rolex 24 at Daytona (2020) - is a strong player to help the team on their quest. In 2022, he won the Asian Le Mans Series (LMP2), came second in the 24 Hours of Le Mans (Pro-Am class) and third in the European Le Mans Series (Pro-Am class) – and in 2023, he’s looking to build on that success on the world stage.
 


Ben Hanley and United Autosports will join forces at the 6 Hours of Portimão (16th April 2023) and the 6 Hours of Monza (9thJuly 2023).
