Vortex's successes in the WSK Super Master Series 2023 rise to six, thanks to victories in the OK and OKJ categories at round 3



OK – The VTS engine once again leads the scene in the queen category of the single-gear karts, with its third consecutive victory out of three races held. A performance that confirms the extraordinary competitiveness of the new Vortex-branded project.



Already in the qualifyings the VTS gains the pole position thanks to the record time of 53.680 seconds set by James Egozi (Tony Kart Racing Team), while in the next six qualifying heats scheduled, it still gets on the podium: 4 victories (as of 67% of the races run), 6 second places, 3 third places and 3 fastest laps. The pre-finals on Sunday also saw a clear dominance of Vortex, with a double win in 'A' prefinal and a clear success in 'B' prefinal.




The final is also coloured with blue, with a starting grid made up of 30% Vortex engines: thanks to an excellent start and a hard race conduct, Luigi Coluccio (Tony Kart Racing Team) takes the lead in the second half of the race and gradually increases his advantage over his chasers. The Italian thus flies straight to victory, his first win of the season, while Egozi gets the lowest step of the podium after constantly running in the top positions and confirming his position at the top of the championship.



The Top 10 sees a further four drivers powered by Vortex engines: Thomas Strauven (Ricky Flynn Motorsport) scores a place in the top five, ahead of Jimmy Helias (Ward Racing), David Walther (Koski Motorsport) and Jan Przyrowski (Tony Kart Racing Team). Maciej Gladysz (Ricky Flynn Motorsport) gains six positions, followed by Arthur Poulain (Tony Kart Racing Team) and Marcus Saeter (Ward Racing). At the start we also find Zoe Florescu Potolea (Tony Kart Racing Team).




OKJ - The Vortex engines for the Junior category stand out again, as it happened on the occasion of the first round at Lonato where Vortex scored a double win at the season's debut. It is no coincidence that, during the qualifying heats, our engines score a total of 5 victories (practically half of the heats run), 2 second places, 3 third places and 1 fastest lap, in addition to a further first place in the pre-final B on Sunday morning.



Once again, the main protagonist of the final is Salim Hanna Hernandez (Ricky Flynn Motorsport), author of an unstoppable comeback from the bottom of the standings to the podium, at Lonato, and a Top 5, at Franciacorta. At the starting grid, the Colombian driver soon threatens the race leader and, after just two laps, moves into first position. Thanks to an impeccable resistance, Hanna Hernandez crosses the finishing line first and takes the championship lead with one race still to go.



Alp Hasan Aksoy (Tony Kart Racing Team) ends the weekend with a top ten result, while Alfie Slater (Ricky Flynn Motorsport) moves up 14 places during the final and finishes in the Top 15. Also Oliver Kinnmark (Koski Motorsport), Davide Bottaro (Tony Kart Racing Team), Arata Endo (Ward Racing), Sebastian Lehtimaki (Koski Motorsport), Elliot Kaczynski (Ward Racing), Kirill Dzitiev (Tony Kart Racing Team) and Scott Kin Lindblom (Tony Kart Racing Team) attend the final.



KZ2 - In the shifter category, the VTZ engine is a runner for a place on the podium with Tom Leuillet (Tony Kart Racing Team). The leader of the Franciacorta event qualifies fifth in the chrono practice and collects a victory and a second place in the qualifying heats. In the final, the Frenchman fights for the Top 3 position, right from the start, but a collision with another competitor forces him to stop.



Excellent results by Norton Andreasson (Tony Kart Racing Team), able to climb 12 positions in the final and also setting a fast lap in the qualifying heats. The final also sees on track Jean Luyet (Tony Kart Racing Team) and Samuel Luyet (Tony Kart Racing Team).


MINI - Ilie Tristan Crisan (Tony Kart Racing Team) is very quick in the qualifyings in the MINI Gr.3 with the third best time in his group. The Canadian driver adds to his haul two podiums gained in the qualifying heats and a Top 10 in the Sunday's final.



Eskandari-Marandi (Tony Kart Racing Team) also performs well in the MINI Gr.3 U10, with two Top 3 positions in the eliminatory heats, the fastest lap in the B pre-final and the sixth place in the final, unfortunately spoiled by a 5-second penalty for the front spoiler in the wrong position.
