Superleague Formula have announced a major new initiative that brings together two of the world's most popular sports: football and motor racing in a motorsport series for high-performance single-seaters bearing the colours of leading football teams from all over the world.
The striking Superleague Formula car has been designed and developed by the US-based "Elan Motorsports Technologies".
CEO David E Bowes announced the news saying : "Elan Motorsports Technologies is fast becoming the premier single seat racing car constructor of choice".
Superleague Formula have an excellent business plan which will deliver a premier race series in Europe. These contracts will allow Elan to expand its base in Europe and help us to develop a High Technology Centre somewhere in the UK."
The first race will take place in the summer of 2008
