Le Président du Team Penske Performance, Tim Cindric a affirmé au quotidien Floridien ‘’ the St Petersburg Times ‘’ que leur Team doit très prochainement prendre une décision concernant l’avenir au sein de l’équipe Penske d’Indycar de l’un de ses deux pilotes.
En l’occurrence, le Brésilien Hélio Castroneves, Vice-champion d’Indycar 2008 derrière le Néo-Zélandais Scott Dixon..
En effet, Castroneves est poursuivi par les tribunaux Américains pour ‘’ Evasion fiscale ‘’, la justice Américaine l’accusant de détenir les preuves de ces charges.
Et selon les dernières informations qui circulent et dont les dirigeants du Team Penske ont eu connaissance, leur pilote risque tout simplement de se retrouver très prochainement... en prison !
Dans ces conditions, ils recherchent un pilote susceptible de venir seconder et épauler, l’Australien Ryan Briscoe.
Et l’une des éventualités qui se présenterait serait tout simplement de retenir un certain ... Sébastien Bourdais !
Bourdais qui a, rappelons-le avant sa venue cette saison dans l’écurie Toro Rosso en GP F1 fait les beaux jours de l’équipe Newman-Haas en Champcar, formule ou il a enlevé quatre titres consécutifs entre 2004 et 2007 avec trente et une victoires à la clé.
A ce jour, son avenir en F1 chez Toro Rosso reste toujours incertain et demeure bien flou...
Et dernièrement, le manceau avait justement laissé entendre que son avenir pourrait tout simplement se trouver en Amérique !
Les problèmes d’Hélio Castroneves pourraient lui ouvrir les portes de ce ‘’ come back ‘’ aux USA chez Penske.
Et ce dans la mesure où le seul baquet disponible – la crise n’a pas permis pour le moment d’envisager l’engagement d’une seconde monoplace - dans son ancienne équipe Newman-Haas -Lanigan est déjà attribué à Graham Rahal.
