No. 66 TRG Porsche Runs Third

 Daytona Beach, Florida, TRG has three of its Porsche GT3s in the top ten at the six hour mark of the Grand-Am Rolex Series Rolex 24 Hours At Daytona GT race.  The No. 66 of Ted Ballou, Tim George Jr., Spencer Pumpelly, Emmanuel Collard and Richard Lietz are currently in third place.
 
The No. 66 AXA/Mitchell Rubber/Wealth Management Strategies/TRG Porsche GT3 have their car in fifth place with 18 hours remaining.  The team hasn't missed a beat in the first six hours of the race.
 
"The car is running really strong," Ballou said.  "I had a slight radio problem at the beginning of my stint but we were able to work it out.  Our performance is good and we are staying close to the leaders.  There is still a lot of time left and things are going according to plan."
 
Justin Marks, RJ Valentine, Andy Lally, Patrick Long and Joerg Bergmeister are running in sixth in the No.67 Construct Corps/CRG/No Fear Energy Drinks/K1 Speed/Voodoo Ride/Gemstone Winery/TRG Porsche GT3.
 
"I was able to get some good laps without a lot of traffic," Marks said.  "That is exactly what I was hoping for my during my first race stint back in sports cars.  I needed to find my rhythm and get my gear shifting down and keep us in the hunt..  I was able to get smoother as my stint went on and the speed was there.  I ran faster laps than I have all weekend, so it is coming back."
 
The No. 65 Riegel/Stanton/Cystic Fibrosis Foundation/65 Roses/Magnus Racing/Marquis Jet/Resorts International/IPC/Total Lubricants/RSS Road Sport Supply/TRG Porsche GT3 with John Potter, Bryce Miller, Craig Stanton and Marco Holzer is holding down seventh place in GT.
 
"My stint was good," Bryce Miller said.  "The speed is there, it is just real physical in the car to get it to go fast.  I was able to get into a good groove and run some fast laps.  We need to maintain our performance all the way to the end.  The team is doing great pit stops and we are having no problems so far."
 
The No. 68 James Farrell & Co./Pallis Properties, Inc./COLO Columbia River Logistics/Cohen Financial/TRG Porsche GT3 driven by Josemanuel Gutierrez, Steve Miller, Chris Pallis, Duncan Ende, and Scott Schroeder is currently being shown in 13th.
 
"My stint was pretty good," Steve Miller said.  "The track felt oily early on in my run.  I had a few nerves during my stint, but was able to work through it and run consistent lap times.  I was able to keep my focus and run a smooth stint.  We have the speed, we just need to keep the car on the track."
 
The No. 63 Guardian Angel Motorsports/Children's Hospital Boston/ jetblue.com /Cavallino Group/www.guardianangelmotorsports.com/TRG Porsche GT3 of Bruce Ledoux, David Quinlan, Dan Watkins, Steve Zadig and Kurt Kossmann has had a tough start to the race.  The team had to bring the car to the paddock for a radiator repair.  The group is currently running in 25th place.
 
"My stint started out with me running back to the paddock to get in the car," Watkins said.  "We had it back in the garage for a fix.  When I got in the car I noticed that we had lost the right mirror and the left one was pointed down.  I was able to get a lot of help from our spotter during my time in the car.  After that it actually went smooth.  I didn't have any car contact or lockup and I was taking it easy."
 
The Rolex 24 At Daytona is being televised live on the SPEED Channel at 4:30 p.m. going to 10:00 p.m.  SPEED will rejoin the action at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday morning taking it to the checker with post race interviews concluding at 4:00 p.m.

TRG was founded in 1993 and has been competing at the top level of motor racing ever since.  The team has the most wins of any team in the Grand-Am Rolex Series with 25, including the 2005 and 2006 Rolex Series GT championship trophy to go along with wins at the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
 
TRG is a manufacturer and distributor of high-performance racing parts. The group specializes in engine and chassis tuning as well as full service professional race car preparation. The company also provides electrical and mechanical engineering services, driver development and arrive-and-drive opportunities. TRG is based in Petaluma, Calif., near its home track of Infineon Raceway in Sonoma.  The company's NASCAR operation is based in Mooresville, North Carolina and a new state-of-the-art facility is coming on-line at New Jersey Motorsports Park in late 2009.
