Most of CRG Team has already been defined for next season, with the debut of Max Verstappen and Felice Tiene's comeback.
Great celebrations for CRG and Arnaud Kozlinski at 2009 WSK “Gran Galà” - at Monza Sporting Club – for the season final prize-giving ceremony. The constructors’ championship, won by CRG with Maxter engines in the WSK most professional class – the Super KF -, and the drivers’ championship – won by Arnaud Kozlinski, driver for CRG – were the further season achievements of the Italian manufacturing firm, after the World Championships won by Jonathan Thonon in the KZ1 World Cup at Sarno and by Kozlinski himself in the Super KF World Championship in Macao.
For CRG-Maxter the 2009 season ended in the best possible way, with the win of the most prestigious karting championships. At the WSK prize-giving ceremony Mr Giancarlo Tinini, chairman of C.R.G. S.p.a., and his driver Arnaud Kozlinski were greatly satisfied with their results.
The 2009 season has just finished, but the team is already focused on the next season, as Mr Giancarlo Tinini points out: “We are absolutely happy for our achievements in 2009. Our drivers’ performances showed the excellent quality of CRG chassis and Maxter engines, besides the brilliant results of LH chassis and the trophies won by the other brands of our group, Maranello and Zanardi.
The next season is approaching and we are already defining a schedule with our official participation in the Euro Series and in the World Series of the WSK, as well as in the season opening race in the Winter Cup of Lonato. As official team, we won’t fail to provide for assistance to our drivers in the CIK-FIA Championships in all the classes. We are arranging the team for our official CRG-Maxter drivers for the next season, even if the team is not completely defined yet. Anyway we have several novelties, such as Felice Tiene’s comeback to our team.
He will compete in Super KF with a CRG chassis, together with Arnaud Kozlinski, Davide Forè and Eddy Tinini, whereas Jonathan Thonon will compete in KZ together with the American driver Gary Carlton. The French driver Brandon Maisano and the English driver Oliver Rowland will compete in Super KF too, with a LH chassis.
The promising Max Verstappen, son of the F1 driver Jos Verstappen, will be our driver in KF3, but there are negotiations pending for other interesting young drivers. In our team there are also two drivers from Sardinia: Giovanni Martinez in KF2 and Luca Tilloca in KZ2. In the following weeks we will be able to give a full account of the list of our drivers.”
Arnaud Kozlinski, the protagonist of the celebrations for the Super KF drivers’ championship, was very happy too: “Winning the championship was just like winning a European championship for me. It was a great pleasure getting the trophy just two weeks after the win in the World Championship in Macao. Maybe, winning the World Championship 15 days before this tough trophy was the ‘psychological push’ I needed. In the last race I gave everything and I made it.
Last year I had lost the championship in the last lap of the last race against Cesetti: this year I had my revenge. I could even have had a better end of season in the last race of Las Vegas, but a problem with my shift gear didn’t allow me to try to win and I was obliged to be content with a fourth place. In 2010 I hope I will be able to have another terrific season like this.”
