Thierry Van Den Bosch went on to win the first Grand Prix of 2010 on the Italian course of Castelletto di Branduzzo. The French dominated heat one and two but home racer Davide Gozzini won the final heat to secure a second place finish overall. Thomas Chareyre completed the podium.

In the UEM European Championship S3 class Lukas Höllbacher of Austria won while Uros Nastran dominated the Open class.

S1

Van Den Bosch of PMR H2O Aprilia Racing rounded off an almost perfect weekend by taking victory at today’s Italian GP. After clocking the fastest time yesterday and winning the Superpole today, the French only missed out on winning the final heat where he took second. The first and second heats instead saw VDB dominate from the start to the flag.

747 Motorsport TM Racing Factory, the squad winning last year’s S1 World Title with Van Den Bosch, completed the podium courtesy of Gozzini and Thomas Chareyre’s performances.

The Italian took two hard fought second places and even troubled Van Den Bosch in heat one putting tons of pressure on the eventual winner. The final heat was another story as Gozzini went on to take victory from Van Den Bosch.

Thomas Chareyre made it to the podium despite a broken front brake in heat two – just from half race onwards. The youngster sealed his maiden GP on TM with three third place finishes in the heats where he recovered after not so good starts.

Husqvarna CH Racing’s Adrien Chareyre lost a battle with his brother Thomas in the final heat and could not do better than fourth overall at the end of a tough weekend due to grip issues.

Motoracing’s Hiemer was fifth overall. A crash and then a tangle with Adrien Chareyre cost the German a good finish in moto two.

With the final moto starting on a slightly wet track after a light rain shower, Lazzarini took a wrong tyre choice (rain on the front and slick on the back while almost everyone was on slick) and dropped down to 13th in the race and eighth overall.

Belgian Delepine also struggled to finish twelfth overall.
