Das Team BMW Motorrad Motorsport hat das dritte Rennwochenende der FIM Superbike-Weltmeisterschaft 2011 im niederländischen Assen abgeschlossen.





Werksfahrer Leon Haslam (GBR) belegt in der Fahrerwertung nun mit 68 Punkten den fünften Rang. Troy Corser (AUS) hat sich auf den zwölften Rang verbessert (26 Punkte). In der Herstellerwertung belegt BMW mit 74 Zählern den fünften Platz.

 
Im ersten Lauf lag Troy nach einem sehr guten Start gleich auf der dritten Position. Über weite Strecken des Rennens kämpfte er in der Führungsgruppe mit und kam schließlich als Sechster ins Ziel. Auch Leon machte am Start Positionen gut, stürzte aber in der dritten Runde. Er konnte das Rennen wieder aufnehmen und kam als Zwölfter ins Ziel.


Im zweiten Lauf verbesserte sich Leon am Start um einige Plätze. Er fuhr ein konstantes Rennen und wurde Fünfter. Troys zweites Rennen war nach einem Sturz in der achten Runde beendet. Die Siege gingen an Jonathan Rea und Carlos Checa.
 

Das Team gratuliert den erfolgreichen BMW Fahrern, die mit ihren BMW S 1000 RR beim legendären 24-Stunden-Rennen „Bol d’Or“ in Magny-Cours zwei Podestplätze feiern können. Das Team BMW Motorrad France 99 mit Sébastien Gimbert (FRA), Damian Cudlin (AUS) und Erwan Nigon (FRA) belegte den dritten Rang in der EWC-Superbike-Klasse. In der Superstock-Klasse wurde das BMW Team Van Boenig Motorsportschool mit Michael Filla (CZE), Werner Daemen (BEL) und Matti Seidel (GER) ebenfalls Dritter.

 

Leon Haslam:

Rennen 1: 12., Abstand zu P1: 00:45.289 min / Schnellste Rennrunde: 1:37.588 min

Rennen 2: 5., Abstand zu P1: 00:16.916 min / Schnellste Rennrunde: 1:36.816 min



„Es war ein hartes Wochenende. Wir hatten ein paar kleinere Schwierigkeiten, die uns daran hinderten, konstante Rundenzeiten zu fahren. Mein Sturz im ersten Rennen hat da sicherlich nicht geholfen. Plötzlich ist das Heck meines Bikes ausgebrochen, und ich konnte den Sturz nicht verhindern.


Zudem wurde ich auch noch von einem anderen Fahrer gestreift, als ich am Boden lag. Deshalb war ich im zweiten Rennen etwas angeschlagen. Trotzdem hatte ich einen guten Start und konnte zur Spitze aufschließen. Leider konnte ich mich nicht weiter nach vorn arbeiten. Doch wir haben uns eine weitere Top-5-Platzierung gesichert. Und ich weiß, dass wir nun am Teamstandort weiter hart arbeiten und uns gut auf Monza vorbereiten werden.”

 

Troy Corser:

Rennen 1: 6., Abstand zu P1: 00:11.120 min / Schnellste Rennrunde: 1:37.135 min

Rennen 2: DNF / Schnellste Rennrunde: 1:37.229 min



„Das erste Rennen war nicht schlecht, ich war damit recht zufrieden. Für das zweite Rennen haben wir nur die Einstellungen am hinteren Stoßdämpfer etwas geändert. Ich denke, dass wir das Bike verbessert haben. Leider ist mir dann am Kurveneingang das Vorderrad weggerutscht. Es geht mir gut, ich habe mich nicht verletzt.


Dennoch ist es ein bisschen enttäuschend. Im Freien Training lief alles gut, aber im Rennen haben wir Schwierigkeiten mit den Reifen bekommen. Doch wir werden das nun analysieren und es für das nächste Rennen verbessern.”

„Insgesamt haben wir an diesem Wochenende viel gelernt. Im ersten Lauf hat Leon versucht, das Rennen in den ersten Runden zu gewinnen – er hat einfach etwas zu viel Druck gemacht und die Kontrolle über das Bike verloren. Er hat sich tapfer zurückgekämpft, aber das Rennen war für ihn gelaufen.


Troy konnte zu Beginn des ersten Rennens 1:37er-Rundenzeiten fahren. Dieses Tempo konnte er aber leider nicht das ganze Rennen über halten. Nach fünf Runden wurden seine Zeiten langsamer. Nachdem seine Traktionskontrolle angepasst wurde, waren seine Rundenzeiten wieder gut, und er wurde Sechster. Im zweiten Rennen hatte Troy Probleme mit der Haftung.


Leon hatte einen guten Start und konnte seinen fünften Platz bis zur Zielflagge behaupten. Jetzt freuen wir uns auf Monza.“
