Trident Racing - Valencia Qualifying

17.05.2008: Trident Racing - Valencia Qualifying

Trident Racing officially started its 2008 International Formula Master adventure at Valencia, taking an outstanding front row place at the end of a tight qualifying session.

Kasper Andensen missed the pole position by just 0.031, though second place was a really good overall debut. Alejandro Nunez and Harald Schlegelmilch kept familiarizing with their car, as they respectively took the 14th and 16th spot. Their runs were conditioned by the red flag displayed due to rain when they were out on new tires. All the team, as well as the drivers, are at work for tomorrow`s race, on delayed broadcast at 12:15 (GMT+1) on Eurosport.

2. Kasper Andersen (#32) 1`28"070

14. Alejandro Núñez (#33) 1`29"005

16. Harald Schlegelmilch (#31) 1`29"050

Kasper Andersen

"I think we really had an almost perfect day. I have to thank the team for the great job done at the end of practice to solve a technical issue and allow me to start qualifications in time. I`m glad of the performance level we shown, although we lost pole position with just 5 seconds left in the session. I hope to have a good start, since I`m sure that if I`ll be able to take the lead, I`ll be also able to control the 19-lap race".

Harald Schlegelmilch

"I wasn`t very lucky today. When we put our second set of fresh tires on, I left for a really fast flyer. Compared to what have become my best laptime, I was down a half second in the first sector and 0.3s in the second.

Unfortunately, when the red flag was exposed due to heavy rain, I was forced to make my way back to the pits. It`s a bit of a disappointment because we had a great car, capable to enter the top-3. I hope things will be turned around tomorrow on Race 1. I`ll try to be aggressive, but also to get it to the end without mistakes".

Alejandro Núñez

"The position taken in qualifying was not the one I expected at the start, especially if we consider the potential of both the team and I. I paid an high price for traffic, as well as for the red flag.

There are positive notes too, especially from the set-up compartment, since the team was great in bringing the car closer to my driving style. I hope to improve my position since the start, maybe profiting from my rivals` mistakes. My goal is to end up in 8th and start from the pole on Sunday".
