Red Arrows return to Hampshire flying high in Britain's Formula 4 series.


 




•    Arden aiming to build on successful Snetterton weekend as the F4 British Championship returns to Thruxton.

•    All three Red Arrows stood on the podium last time out with Tommy Foster securing a maiden series victory.

•    Championship challenger Bart Horsten hoping to keep title hopes alive while Alex Connor looks to build on impressive Rookie Cup results.
 



Arden Motorsport are aiming to continue their impressive form in the F4 British Championship when the category returns to Thruxton this weekend [17-18 August].
 


The Banbury-based outfit enjoyed a successful Snetterton meeting last time out, with silverware for all three of the Red Arrows, a maiden series victory for Tommy Foster and more points in the Teams Cup stakes than any other team across the weekend.
 


Foster, who secured pole at the high-speed Hampshire circuit earlier this season, is undoubtedly keen to add to his victory tally after becoming the seventh different winner in what is proving to be a highly competitive British F4 campaign.
 


Title contender Bart Horsten remains in title contention after a strong showing at Snetterton, with a defensive masterclass in the final race meaning he continued his silverware-laden season.
 


The Australian driver also has a race win to his name, and believes Arden are now a force to be reckoned with for the remaining rounds of the calendar.
 


Alex Connor also has reason to be optimistic after rising to second in the Rookie Cup standings at Snetterton, with the 15-year-old impressing and gaining confidence with every race weekend he gets under his belt.
 


As the championship returns to the fastest circuit in the UK, Saturday boasts the majority of the action, with qualifying at 09:00 ahead of the opening two races at 13:40 and 17:20.
 


The weekend is completed with one ITV4-televised race on the Sunday, scheduled to get underway in front of an expected capacity crowd at 13:45.




Arden British F4 Team Manager Gary Ward said: “After Snetterton I was really pleased for everybody and the drivers. As a team we had a fantastic weekend.  I am looking forward to this weekend at Thruxton - hopefully we continue the success and gain more podiums”
 



Alex Connor (#27) said:  “I feel like I’ve improved a lot since Donington Park which was my first race weekend. I’ve gained a lot more confidence in the car; a lot more confidence when overtaking.I think I can push myself now for at least second in the Rookie Cup – that would be a good result.Last time Thruxton wasn’t the greatest weekend for me, but I think this time I can push the car more and get a great result there.”
 



Bart Horsten (#50) said:  “The podium at Snetterton was a step in the right direction. I think we’re starting to get better in terms of how we conduct ourselves and organisation, as well as communication which is a big thing as well. We should be a force to be reckoned for the rest of the year.”
 



Tommy Foster (#53) said: “The win felt like it had been a long time coming, it’s just finally nice to have it accomplished. I’ve just got to go out there and get another one now! I’m really looking forward to Thruxton, last time I got first and third in qualifying.


“In race one there we had a little issue, race two I just had to take on the chin and race three was the hardest one to swallow – starting from pole – then we had a mechanical issue. I think now with everything going well we can get right up at the sharp end and challenge for the wins.”
