Esports champion James Baldwin turned virtual success into reality by claiming victory with Jenson Team Rocket RJN co-driver Michael O’Brien in the opening race of this season’s Intelligent Money British GT Championship at Oulton Park earlier today.
The pole-sitting Optimum Motorsport McLaren shared by Lewis Proctor and Ollie Wilkinson finished second, while Angus Fender and Dean Macdonald completed the overall podium after a pitstop infringement and subsequent penalty denied 2 Seas Motorsport’s other car a potential victory.
Further back, TF Sport’s Connor O’Brien and Patrick Kibble converted pole position into a comfortable GT4 victory after several podium contenders fell by the wayside. Patrik Matthiesen and Jordan Collard (HHC Motorsport) were second after beating TF Sport’s other Aston Martin crewed by Daniel Vaughan and Jamie Caroline by one second.
